Crasnick also says the Jays are pursuing BJ Ryan. Wouldn't that be awesome next season if we faced the Jays, who won 1-0 on eight strong from Burnett, and Ryan closed it out for the save?
Did I say awesome? I meant the most annoying thing I can think of (right now).
Burnett's going to get five years, clearly, which would make him the first pitcher to get it since Chan Ho Park. Texas, Seattle, Boston, Washington and St. Louis are also believed to be interested in Burnett. No mention of us, so count us out. Maybe we'll score Hideo Nomo in January.
