Hey...
Who in the hell voted for John Maine in that poll?
Edit: Obviously, as expected, this has led to more John Maine support.

re:
Oh, wait 'til Opening Day - I can almost guarantee that unless all of our players are hurt in spring training I'm going to be talking weird mess about how the Orioles could maybe win 90 games if (A), (B), (C), (D), (E), (F) and (G) happen.
I think winter and the absence of the actual game makes me a little more doomy and gloomy than usual anyway.

Optimistic?
Anyhow, as for 2006, I think chats indicate we are entering the final phase of grief.
1. Numbness 2. Denial 3. Anger 4. Depression 5. Acceptance.
The horror show that was 2005 left as numb in October, and in denial that 2006 could be any worse. The Miggy outburst at first provoked anger, then depression. We seem to be entering the acceptance phase, with my personal impetus being the news that the O's resigned Newhan.

Oh, I'm all geared up for the holidays
The fact that the O's are shaping up to do the usual makes no difference in the grand scheme of things. And hey, at least I'm setting myself up for a pleasant surprise if they do much of anything.

Small Victories
Well, at least you can remember a Series win. I even have faint memories of a second.

Speaking of which...
"Betting that the market for Millwood has started anew, the Rangers made Millwood a three-year offer worth more than $30 million, a source with knowledge of the negotiations said." the Dallas Morning News reported this morning.
