With five scoreless innings in his first spring start, Bruce Chen locked up the fifth spot in the rotation in a 3-1 win over the Cardinals yesterday.

Praise be. I really think Chen is primed for a solid season. He pitched 14 2/3 scoreless innings this spring, and man, Chen has been around forever and is still only 28 in June. I honestly believe he has breakout potential left. We'll see, but I'm happy to say that Lee Mazzilli has made the right decision here.
