Gameday Thread: O's at Rangers, 08/07

Game time is 2:05 on WJZ and FSN Southwest.

Both of these guys are mired in serious slumps. Ponson hasn't won since June 18, when he beat the Rockies. Since then he's gone 0-6 and seen his ERA jump from 5.13 to 6.12.

Young, on the other hand, doesn't have quite the length in his tailspin, but he has been winless since June 30, and has seen his ERA go from 3.33 to 4.94 in that timespan. He's been terrible his last four starts, and in six of his last seven.

Should be a real battle of wills.

loads the bases and then leaves with an injury. not to keep piling it up on the guy, but 2 innings a start is getting old. the ranger announcers were intimating that he gave up and "you can see why the orioles wanted tho trade him."

He is the poster child for non-guaranteed contracts. If he was in the NFL, Billick would kick his ass all the way to his car, and then throw rotten produce at his Hummer H2 as he sped away. But this is MLB baby, home of the 4 yr 40 million golden goose. Have an ERA of 6.5 and still get a check! Ya gotta love it!
