It appears that the name Raffy tossed out there was Miggy's, but it seems like it's all a load of crap.
Palmeiro said he received vitamin B-12 from Tejada, a person familiar with Palmeiro's unsuccessful grievance hearing to overturn the suspension said Thursday on condition of anonymity because the proceedings were secret.Tejada admitted to giving Palmeiro an injection of Vitamin B-12, which helps maintain healthy nerve cells and red blood cells, but says that was "a long time ago."
From Tejada:
OK. It's POSSIBLE that Palmeiro didn't lie to congress. It's POSSIBLE that there is another side to the story. It's POSSIBLE that it's just a coinceidence that Jorge Piedra, who Palmeiro worked out with, also tested positive for steroids. It's POSSIBLE that he just blurted out Tejada's name since Miggy gave him a B-12 supplement before and it was an opportunity to say, "Well, that could be it," not meaning it to have any malice.
I just have a hard time believing that all those things, put together, don't somehow lead to Palmeiro being more than just a victim of stupidity.
I really do hope, though, that he just wasn't thinking on the Tejada implication, and that he wasn't out to drag some (undeserving) person's name through the muck with his.
Either way, the whole situation reeks, and I'm glad he's not coming back.
