Glaus WANTED to play in Baltimore

Source: Boston.com

One high-ranking major league executive who monitored Arizona's unloading of Troy Glaus to Toronto said, ''He really wanted to go to Boston. The two places he wanted to go to were Boston and Baltimore." Arizona general manager Josh Byrnes was formerly the Sox' assistant GM, and that relationship, plus the Sox' long-running admiration for Glaus's skill set, led to discussions between the clubs.

If that's true, it's a damned shame. He actually wanted to play here, and we still didn't pull the trigger. When the FO doesn't trade for a player, in his 20s, who hits nearly 40 HR a year that WANTS to come to Baltimore... that's when it starts to become too much to take.

Now now,
they were probably saving their money for Jeremy Burnitz. But realisticly Mora is our 3B but I'd make room for Glaus, HE CAN PLAY FREAKING FIRST YOU DIPSHITS! Oh sorry, Batista is there much better than Glaus, what a smart FO.

Re:
Ken Rosenthal reported that the O's were talking to Arizona (D-Backs looking to ship Glaus to Sox, Jays), and that the D'backs were targeting pitching. The Red Sox always dangle Clement and Arroyo. The D'Backs inquired about Bedard. I'm guessing negatiations stopped there with the O's. Well, the D'Backs ultimately settled for Batista in the deal and unloaded salary.

I saw that comment too
and I was disappointed.  We could have offered the TODD who had a better year than Batista.  But I don't think the O's had anyone to match or better Hudson.

I like the TODD
but he's 34.
