Possible return of "The Turd???"

Please say it isn't so!  According to today's Sunday Sun:

The Orioles have made significant progress toward reaching a deal with free-agent reliever Todd Williams, whom the club non-tendered earlier this month.  Perlozzo met with Williams last week in Tampa to gauge his interest in returning to the club.

NO, NO, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!  Not the return of "The Turd."  NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!  Fuck you O's if you sign him!!!

OMG, I damn-near puked when I read this. Sorry, SC. I just can't feel the love here.

re:
He was really good in 2005 and he's going to cost about a dollar and 25 cents. There's nothing wrong with the depth he provides. He won't be expected to provide anything important.

agreed...
sign him to a minor league contract and if he pitches well enough to make the team, fine.  why not stash him in norfolk until williamson/bradford gets hurt?

depth
The O's will need that extra bullpen arm. As it stands right now, they'll have about ten guys suited up in the bullpen and two bench players.

really though?
Is depth on the bench needed since they're platooning half the line-up?

re:
Williams is a right-handed arm that has at least had a good major league season in his life. It's more than you can say for a lot of the newer, younger guys who likely never will and who still have a lot they could be learning in Norfolk. If you're going to stock a veteran bullpen, then make the mop-up crew veterans too.

he's in better shape than last year
according to Roch:

Perlozzo recently had separate lunches with Huff and Todd Williams while serving as team recruiter. Williams appears to be in better condition than when he reported to spring training, and he could reach agreement with the Orioles very soon. Bullpen depth this spring shouldn't be an issue.

Maybe he was just too fat to pitch well in '06.

The Todd
Williams was pitching hurt most of the season
last yr. The O,s were desperate & used him
when he shoudn,t have been pitching. That is
managers responsibility & pitching coach &
team doctors.I  give him credit for trying.
He had shoulder problems & should have been
DL,ed
