Happy New Year! It's Aubrey Huff!

Discuss the pros and cons in the other post. Here, I just say, "Welcome, Aubrey Huff! Be a good hitter for us!"

Because really that's the absolute core of what I care about.

That is a good question!
That locker room is going to start looking like an episode of survivor. Regardless, before any fielders get moved though, someone in the FO better expedite Rodrigo's ass out of here! Seriously, why the hell is that guy still here?

Crowded Lockerroom
I kind of like the idea of having a crowded lockerroom.  Maybe some of these guys will start performing (Jay Gibbons) and stay in a little better shape (Jay Gibbons) so they can actually make it through 3/4 of a #(*%&@#ing season (Jay Gibbons.)

Perhaps "some guys" can ply their trade elsewhere.

gibbons
so, i just finished my first full season of MLB The Show 06 on my PSP.  I, of course, played as the Orioles.

For the first half of the year, I was rolling.  I traded Brian Roberts (who was sucking) and Rodrigo Lopez for Pronk.  Cabrera had an ERA of 1.01.  Jay Gibbons was leading the league in every conceivable offensive catagory (except stolen bases, which I still have yet to master in this game).

Then, on the LAST FLIPPIN GAME before the all-star break, Gibbons gets hit by Jake freaking Westbrook, breaking his wrist and putting him out for the year.

Those games are like real life!
I still play MVP 05 on pc since xbox 360 has only one baseball game and it sucks. I can't get any good trades to go through with other teams so I have to resort to picking up average at best players and try to find a way to restructure the minors. It takes awhile, but after simulating a dozen or so seasons I finally reached the .500 mark and still missed the play-offs by 10 games.

Frankly, I'm surprised...
that I didn't make out with any girls last night.
My head hurts.

Sammy says 5th
Roberts
Mora
Markakis
Miggy
Huff

Ugh
I hope Mora performs well enough to earn that 2 spot, but if Mora performs like this past year, I really hope Sammy wises up and goes Roberts-Markakis-Tejada-Huff.  Or even bat Millar 2nd or 3rd if you want Miggy hitting fourth.  But Mora needs to be moved down the order if he doesn't step it up.

Aubrey:
Welcome aboard, buddy.  We know you'll pass the physical, but we'd like to do one more test, this one simply for fan interest.  You know those machines that measure bat speed at point of contact? Well, we'd like to get an exact reading of your PC/FUI (power coefficient/force upon impact) to compare with that of other players, so we've attached a measuring device for this purpose to the back of Peter Angelos's head.

Please do some stretching and take a few warmup cuts; then approach Mr. Angelos from behind, aim for the center of the measuring device and take three full swings. Your score will be based on aggregate total points, so swing as hard as you can each time.  Thanks and good luck,

All Oriole fans

"Be a good hitter"
That pretty much sums it up. This isn't a bad move, but my attitude is: whatever, hope he hits and doesn't tank, as he sure fits the aging veteran mold the O's have enshrined in the Warehouse.

Whatever... the entire plan still centers on a bunch of unproven pitchers gelling into a solid starting rotation.

Tampa Bay
Having just moved from Baltimore to St. Petersburg, I've got to hear a lot of talk about Huff and his problems from those who know him best.

Apparently he's going to play exactly like Sosa did when he was in Baltimore.   Lots of weakly hit balls to second base.
