Oh that's just my pal Nick Markakis, who had his second four-hit game of the week last night. Yeah he's hitting .271 now. Yeah he hit .338 with a .403 OBP in June. I mean, OK, he hasn't hit a home run since April, but whatever, dude. How many home runs have YOU hit this season?

He just keeps on improving. You gotta love it. Yeah I know we all wish his slugging % wasn't almost equal to his OBP, but the power would will come around. I'd rather have a young player with a sound approach at the plate as opposed to a wreckless hacker with some pop. The man can take pitches, we all know that. But its only a matter of time before he learns how to work the count to his advantage and get the right pitches to hit... and eventually drive for xtra basehits.
