Gameday Thread: Yankees at O's, 08/06

Jaret Wright, RH Rodrigo Lopez, RH (7-6, 4.57) (8-11, 6.20)
Jaret Wright has uh...I wouldn't say he's been good, but certainly an improvement on his 2005. He's never going to have another year like he did in 2004. It's just not gonna happen. But then you'd have thought in 2004 that he was never gonna have a year like that period, despite some early promise with the Indians, since we were almost a decade removed from him being worth a damn or remotely healthy. I guess stranger things could happen. Like his 2004 season. Right?
Rodrigo Lopez has two years running of his W-L record not reflecting his actual performance. He sucked last year, really, but he won 15 games. This year, you might go, "Eh, 8-11 isn't so bad." But he has been a real turd. I honestly do wish he'd be like the other Lopez and get sent the hell off my team, because I'm sick of Rodrigo. That seems mean because he did give us a couple nice years, but whatever. I'm tired of nice, I want to win sometime. Plus he's become a baby. Like the other Lopez.

Same applies to Roddy, actually.

My god, I hope we O's fans haven't suck to the point where 8-11 "isn't so bad." Because if that's the case, we might as well go watch arena lacrosse.
Rodrigo will be pitching for Ramon Hernandez for the first time since, when, June? This should be interesting.
Think
He is indeed according to Roch

I hope...
He's capable of winning. But will he?
I give him a 50/50 shot. But no matter how he does this afternoon, I want him in the bullpen next year.

I want him
a) he's inconsistent; and
b) when Mazzilli put him in the bullpen, he was a crybaby about it.
I want him
a) he sucks.
i want him off the team right now
Urge to kill...rising.
Hmmm.
Maybe not....
It's Widger!
I doubt it
KILL SAMMMM!
seriously. just have brob steal 3rd.
goddamn
why don't you just concede the game.
Wright is NOT THAT GOOD A PITCHER!
If it was the 7th inning, maybe. Not in the second.
TWO leadoff doubles wasted
It'd be mind boggling
deja vu all over again

He is bumped to Wednesday
D-Cab is going Tuesday, looks like.
yay.
NO
Brower was a reliever so you never knew when you were gonna have to suffer the insult of his pitching. You got to enjoy the brief hope of winning ball games until Sammy sprung that asshole on you and crushing your beautiful glimmer of hope before your very eyes.
With Ortiz pitching, you get several days advance notice that you will not be winning that ballgame. You can do laundry that night, or go out to dinner, or stick your head in a bucket of acid which would frankly be less painful than watching him pitch in an Orioles uniform.
Advance warning is good.
