Two Things I Learned Today

  • Tim Wakefield is off Boston's World Series roster. Shame. Wakefield has been in Boston since 1995. He is third all-time in Red Sox history in wins, second in games pitched, third in innings, second in strikeouts, second in games started, you get it. According to Wake himself, he's just not sure he'll be healthy enough to give them two starts, or even be 100% for Game 2, which he was scheduled to start. I got nothin' on earth against Tim Wakefield. OTM speculated on this, too: This sounds like it could be something that might see Tim Wakefield hang 'em up. Javier Lopez is taking Wake's spot on the roster. [Over the Monster]
