MLB Trade Rumors is reporting that the Mets might be close on Bedard. Apparently this is from MetsBlog, and the Mets always seem to be "close" on trades they have no chance of making.

But it does speculate that Jose Reyes could be the centerpiece, that Reyes is the only player that makes sense.

I'd take Reyes and a case of baseballs. Don't think it's happenin', though.

EDIT: You know, I doublechecked on Reyes at baseball-reference. Scratch that. Lots of hype on him for an OPS+ of 103. Linkage:
