Sports Legends at Camden Yards

Hey guys - I'm new here...well, when I say new, I mean new to actually having a username, as I've been reading CC for the past year or so. Anyhoo, I enjoy the community here and love reading about people who are so rediculously into this game, this city, and this team as I am.

I also happen to be the collections manager at the Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards and Babe Ruth Birthplace. Yes, that means I get to inventory and I.D. Cal Ripken's jockstrap (no kidding) when it comes in on loan. And some other fun stuff too. We have an extensive collection there from all of Maryland sports, but particularly Orioles-related paraphernilia, as we are the official Orioles museum.

If you have never been there....and you are reading this page....GO THERE TODAY. You'll love it. Really. Three World Series trophies and rings! Jim Palmer jerseys! Tejada bats! Ripken's jockstraps!

This isn't just a simple advertisement for the museum...attendence is down and costs are rising. If you love the Orioles, the Colts, the friggin' Blast, or Maryland sports in general....please pay the museum a visit. You'll love it. Anyway guys, thanks for the great site again, keep up the good work...

Those were the days...

hearing Kool and the gang's Celebration when a goal was scored
that goalkeeper with the long hair....Manning?
the Baltimore Civic Center, which looked like a relic from the 70s a the time. Is it even around anymore, or has it been razed?
'83 or '84 when we won it all. I was there. AWESOME.

Civic Center

The Civic Center is now 1st Mariner Arena, and the Blast still play there, and still kick ass! We have their trophy from last year's championship on display, as well as a bunch of memorabilia from the early 80s Blast.

Awwwww man....

..I used to love the Baltimore Blast! When I would see a game as a kid and that red siren started going off and "Celebration" started blasting after a goal was scored, that was party time!

The Bar exam?

I think I took that in Fells Point during my Towson U days in the late 70's.
Looking back at my GPA, i must have passed it because I knew every bar in Fells Point before I graduated!
