D-Cab's debut

Unfortunately, I can't find any box scores which show K/BB ratios for sprint training games. And it is only spring traing after all.

But nonetheless, Cabrera's line in his first start yesterday was certainly encouraging:

Pitchers    IP  H   R   ER  BB  SO  HR  ERA
Cabrera     2   1   0   0   0   2   0   0.00

The lack of walks and low number of pitches are a nice way to start the year.

From The Post:

Baltimore right-hander Daniel Cabrera made his first appearance of the spring, needing just 25 pitches against seven hitters in his two innings. The only hit he allowed was a dribbler to third by Washington third baseman Ryan Zimmerman.

"I feel like I'm in shape," he said. He mixed in both his change-up and his curveball, striking out Felipe Lopez to start the game and Robert Fick in the second.

Bonus: Markickass went 3 for 4 with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored.

re:
Let's hope this taking it to the next level pans out. Cabrera gets the job done in first outing. Control first, both the pitching and physcologically. Danny hasn't been much for changing speeds. I'm curious to see the changeup. If he could add that to the curveball for a reliable third pitch... But I'm getting ahead of myself.
"I have three years in the major leagues, and now I want to go to the next level. I feel like I am ready to go for that and am trying to go get it," he said. "They have been patient with me. I've frustrated people at times. This is a new year. The past is the past and I am ready for what's coming now."
"I've been working for the whole offseason for the day to be like this, to control my pitches," said Cabrera, the Orioles' 25-year-old right-hander. "That's what I did."

Two innings with NO walks?
You've got to be kidding.  This is not the Daniel Cabrera that I know.

Awesome.
