Baltimore Back on Road Unis????

/crosses fingers

"Confirmed" that Baltimore will be on the uniforms next year?

/realizes that it doesn't take much to keep me happy

I think Baltimore pride is a beautiful thing, and plus, it will make all of us rush out and buy the new jersey.  I'm down like Charlie Brown.

On a completely unrelated note, did anyone else who was watching the Nationals feed yesterday notice how the one announcer (not Sutton) kept saying how much we like to "throw money around in the free-agent pool"?  I say lay off!  If we want to spend millions of dollars on Sammy Sosa, we can do it, dammit!  At least our team realizes that Tony Batista is done.....

If true...
it would be (practically) the first thing the organization has done right in 10 years.

So, if you were a betting man
which would say will happen?

I never bet against Angelos...
ability to make the wrong decision.

I do remember reading an interview in which Angelos said he would consider it. But my gut tells me that with his lingering bitterness over the Nationals move, Angelos would see it as "surrendering" the D.C. market to the Nats.

RE:
Great, the O's do one thing right in a decade and that one thing involves a fashion decision.

this
sounds amazing.  I'm not from Baltimore, but I have a ton of Baltimore pride.

right now it's still a rumor
The O's actually released a statement earlier in the week saying they hadn't filed the paperwork. The deadline is May 31 apparently, so they still have time to do the right thing, though.
There is no reason not to. It would make the fans happy and now that the Gnats are here, it's time to give up the "regionalization" efforts and throw their core fanbase a bone.

How quickly they forget
the epic ST battle of B-Rob vs. Jerry Hairston, Jr. for the 2B job. There was gnashing of teeth and rending of garments over that one, I tell you, until Hairston was made part of the trade...
Anyone know Davey Johnson's number?

heh, yeah
Also, people often refer to the acquisition of wright as a "signing," forgetting that we actually gave up a dude for him. As it turns out its a dude we might've been able to use this year.

oh well, I was mildly in favor of the wright trade at the time, so I can't say too much. point is though, that it was worse than just signing the guy.

new threads
That was last week's other hot topic. No need to mention #1. Other boards were hyper-ventilating over this one, so we pretty much let it slide.

Sure, I'd like to see my home town on the uniforms. However, stating the painfully obvious, I'd like to  see a better on the field product before I see new threads on their backs.

In a nutshell
Change the management, not just the uniforms.

Jesus, sorry
Never mind, I'll go back to being quiet now.

No, you're right
It would be just about the 1st right thing this franchise has done sign sign Tejada and Hernandez.

It's just that there are bigger fish to fry right now.

We like your folksy, midwestern charm
Although just because you live in nebraska doesn't mean you're folksy OR charming.  I don't want you to feel like you're held prisoner by stereotypes.  But I do hope you are folksy.

'Fraid not
I live in Mount Vernon, downtown.  The "Nebraska" part of my name is from my obsession with the Springsteen record of the same name.  But if the CC needs Midwest representation, I'll be happy to pretend.

And we'll be happy to believe
after all, we still think the O's are an actual MLB team, despite eveidence to the contrary.
