Would you like fries with that?

Was it just me or did anyone else notice the irony when the Orioles hired Andy MacPhail as the new head of baseball operations...MacPhail...Mac"Fail"????    I'm really hoping that this guy is as sharp as he is portrayed as being and will find a way to improve this franchise, but if on occasion he makes a bone-headed decision may I suggest that our photoshop guru (RobG??) use Andy's face on Ronald McDonald's body?

For some reason
I don't read much into people's name. Wonder why.

MacPhail
I wonder how long it will actually take MacPhail to have any affect on this team.  He has been at his post for about a week and I'm sure there are several other things keeping him busy...finding a house near Baltimore, kicking one of the ten GMs out of an office so he actually has a place to work out of, etc.  There are just so many other things going on that I doubt he has much affect on the team or much of the personnel the entire year.  I know he is in search of a manager but what affect will the manager have with AAAA talent?

I also was thinking about the O's hiring Rick Peterson as pitching coach and Leo Mazzone as manager.  That would be a fool proof plan to have an era under 1.00 as a staff.  They still couldn't hit but we're used to that.

He's been at his post for about two days. It'll take a while.
