Camden Yards First Timer!

Hey guys,

I'm visiting from the BleedCubbieBlue blog.  I'm going to Camden Yards tomorrow for the first time and was wondering if anyone had any tips -- where to park?  where can I buy a scorecard?

Those are my main questions, but any advice would be appreciated.  Thanks!!

for starters...
Scorecards: Official programs are sold just inside the gates, unofficial (cheaper) ones just outside the gates, generally. You'll notice them, they're hard to miss.

Parking: I recommend the garage on Eutaw St. next to the Firehouse.

Have fun!
You're lucky to be seeing Erik Bedard. Like 2632 said, you can buy the cheaper unofficial programs outside, but if you just want a scorecard, you can buy them for $1 inside at the program stand.

As far as parking, if you'll be doing things in the city before or after the game, any nearby parking garage works. But if you'll just be driving in, seeing the game, and getting out, you might try the Orioles parking lots located between Oriole Park and the Ravens stadium. A word of caution: don't park in any of the surrounding neighborhoods on the street. Best case scenario you'll get an outrageous parking ticket, worst case scenario you'll get towed.

If you're going to be in town early you should check out the Sports Legends museum (right next to Camden Yards) or the Babe Ruth museum (just across Russell St from Camden Yards). They're both pretty cool. I think I prefer Sports Legends.

We all love Kevin Millar. Let's all stop acting like everyone here doesn't know that Millar is the shit. He is. He is the shit. Millar is our boy. -SC

re:
The lot between Camden Yards and Ravens Stadium is where I suggest you park as well.  It costs $10 (a pretty good deal for being so close) and is right off of 395.  And since this is a series with the DRays, no one is gonna show up to the game and you should have a relatively easy time getting in and out.

The parking
is relatively inexpensive by Camden Yards (compared to NY or Chicago) so hitting a lot of garage near the stadium won't set you back too much.

I strongly recommend that you get yourself over to Lexington Market http://www.lexingtonmarket.com/ and get yourself a Lump Crabcake (make sure it's lump, not backfin) from Faidley's http://www.faidleyscrabcakes.com/.  Lexington Market is a municipal market that closes at 6:00PM so you'd have to get there before then...but these are some of THE best crabcakes on earth we're talking about here.  And it's within walking distance of the Yard.

I park in a garage just off Pratt
I think its a garage for the UMD campus, not sure what they call it. Penn street, maybe? Only costs 7 bucks, short walk to the stadium, easy access back to mlk and I-95.

Also, once at the stadium you should probably go to Eutaw and eat some Boog's BBQ.
