Gameday Thread: 08/12 Boston Red Sox @ Baltimore Orioles
Still cleaning the basement. Argggh.
It's Trachsel, who actually has pitched well of late, vs. Schilling, going for his first win in two months.
Gametime 1:35pm.
GO O's!

More on our awesome fan base
Having a bad team for 9 years in a row isn't enough.. now we can also boast one of the most pathetic fan bases in the league.

I always wondered if
GAH GARY YOU ARE WRONG
It pisses me off when sportswriters/broadcasters show their ignorance on this subject. It's obvious none of them have read the book, which is better as a business book than a baseball book anyway.

Trachsel sucks
and nice hustle out of the box Papi. if you'd been running from the start, you wouldn't have had to get you fat ass on the ground to avoid the tag.

unbelieveable
let's take this series!!
Sweet Mother of God...
Sometimes I really really really wonder if there is any common sense or logic behind this team. Gibbons cannot play. Gibbons cannot contribute. Gibbons should be on the DL and be replaced by an OF who might contribute something. But no. He'll stay till he actually goes under the knife.

Yeah i know
someone mentioned it before
Let's get this equation straight...
1.1: An injured Moises Alou is more productive than the average major leaguer. That's why he plays through eternal injuries.
1.2: An uninjured Jay Gibbons is average at best. An injured Jay Gibbons is on par with an injured Jeff Reboulet.
Anyway, in other strange news... The Colorado Rockies have acquired another former Oriole... Geronimo Gil. I guess things could be worse for us, we could reacquire our own old lousy players.

That was me...
There's no rhyme or reason behind any of this, and you have to look at all these moves together. Supposedly a team's moves should add up to a coherent picture reflective of a cogent plan. The Os moves don't, and they haven't since Gillick left.

Orioles are the only team in MLB..

I went to this one, too. Good call, me!
Kevbo's walk-off? THERE IS A GOD!!!...AND HE'S NOT NECESSARILY SAWX FEHN!!!
Re % of Sawx fehnz on hand: it looked between 2/3 and 3/4 to us. Most of them were fine, just folks at a ball game wearing their team's stuff, no problem with that.
But (1) this casually walking-around-like-we-own-the-place thing that many of them (probably even subconsciously) project? Man, is that depressing to see or what? And
(2) there is among them a contingent of real dipstick ice-holes, no question about it. Exiting after the game in a crowded corridor:
Titov [to no one in particular]: Ah well, just another weekend in Baltinmore-- and we take another series from the Red Sox. Jeez, same old stuff.
Sawx fehn: Up yours.
Titov: Say, thanks for coming down, have a nice trip home.
Sawx fehn: Up yours.
Titov: Seriously, I really root for good baseball most of all. Thanks for coming down, and good luck.
Sawx fehn: Up yours.
No joke. Sure, I was joshing them around, needling just a little-- but hey, I'd been hearing raucous Sawx cheers all day, I'm in my own park, and not being hostile or agressive in any way. And that's what I hear back? These types are as friendly as they are clever, and they also think showing up means they own the place. Gee, kinda like...oh what's the use, he wouldn't get it anyway.
In any case, a great day-- and I'm just so sorry I can't add "and a good time was had by all."
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha !
