PTBNL for Bynum

I don't mean to rub this in, just to give you ammo to complain about management or whatever.

Back in December, when the O's got Bynum from the Cubs, the Cubs eventually got single A pitcher Kevin Hart. No one thought Kevin Hart would be anything. Heck, I didn't think he'd be anything.

Today, he was announced as Cubs Minor League Pitcher of the Year. He's on the Cubs roster, pitching out of the bullpen for stretch, and has a decent chance of making the playoff roster, should the Cubs be lucky enough to make it.

It's such an out of nowhere leap, I don't think you can hold the management responsible - if anyone knew he was this good, people would've been trading more than Freddie Bynum for him, and you can't tell if he's going to stay at this level or bounce back a bit next year. It sure looks bad, though.

Kevin Hart
Until he does something in the big leagues, I don't care.  At this point, Hart and Bynum will probably have journeymen careers ahead of them.  They'll bounce from team to team, stay up in the bigs for a portion of year, and spend of the time in the minors.  The trade involved two expendable parts so I'm cool with it.

The Cubs' bullpen stinks
And this is September, when teams will stick a bunch of dudes out there so they can use a new pitcher for every batter if they feel like it.

Not terribly interesting, like birdman said.

Well, now that Hart has left the O's system
I fully expect him to turn into Kurt Friking Schilling.

i dont think that we need to stress it
With the direction we are going if we stick to the farm system we got and not go after old free agents we should be fine. One voyager relief pitcher leaving the system will not hurt us.
Jeremy Guthrie is better then you! Go to hell Rob Bell!

Yeah it's a doozy. Everyone's three years away from being any good or doesn't project to be any good.
