Off topic: I hate Dan Snyder

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3215817

Seriously, what the hell is he doing? This is not how a successful sports franchise is run. He fires his highly-paid assistants, hires two relative no-names, and yet still doesn't name a coach. If he was gonna hire Fassel he should've already done it, and he just fired his other frontrunner.

Next season is gonna be a disaster. He's the new Al Davis, except without the early success to kinda excuse his behavior.

WTF?
Is he crazy?  Nice to see he's not wasting any fucking time reverting to his true colors.  I've hated that motherfucker for a long time, but it was tempered, and put at bay when he brought Gibbs back.  Now that that's over, still without a Superbowl victory, I can go back to getting completely alienated by that shithead, undeserving owner of my favorite football franchise.  How did we go from EBW and JKC to this greedy, sniveling, incompetent little asshole?

What. The. Fuck.
The person also said that most of the rest of the coaching staff was expected to remain with the team, which would lend credence to owner Dan Snyder's stated desire to maintain a degree of continuity following the resignation of head coach Joe Gibbs on Jan. 8.

"Here ya go, we're keeping the ballboys, four of the cheerleaders, and the guy who paints the lines on the field. How do you like that for continuity?"

What a raging asshole. And seriously. Fassel? Is he smoking crack?

One step forward, two steps back. Thanks Danny Boy, you colossal megalomaniacal fuckup.

jesus christ
Dan Snyder is a special type of bad owner. It's a pretty exclusive club of guys that actively fuck their teams up.

at least he is trying to win
and that is enough to put him just a notch above Peter Angelos who just wants our money

Anyone
who's parked a car and experienced a game at FedEx field knows Snyder wants your money that much worse than Angelos.

absolutely...
and i honestly think both really want to win, but are so self-absorbed that winning on their terms is the paramount concern.  sort of pollyanna-ish, i know, but wouldn't it be cool to have owners that viewed their franchises more as a civic trust than a monument to their own greatness?

Back off, Ozymandias: meet Dan 'n' Petey
aka the Kubla Khans of BaltoWash.

In Xanadu did Kubla Khan
   A stately pleasure-dome decree:
Where Alph, the sacred river, ran
         Through caverns measureless to man
            Down to a sunless sea.

Forget it, Jake. It's Birdland.

Gibbs
The game had passed him by, he was great, but I think even he knew that his great years were behind him.

And as for Greg Williams, i have always thought he was a self absorbed man.  I heard that he let players go b/c he felt like he could win with anybody in the lineup.  That was not this past season but the one before where our team went 5-11 and our defense was dreadful.

This whole organization seems confused really.

Gregg Williams
His getting fired does not surprise me. There is no way I could imagine Williams and Snyder having a conversation that didn't devolve into a shouting match within 20 minutes.

I have a friend who is a Bills fan, and he hated Williams when he was the head coach in Buffalo.

i suppose...
that williams reverting to form w/o adult supervision is just as conceivable as snyder reverting to form.

How do you hire an offensive coordinator
before you hire a head coach, so the head coach just might, heres a revolutionary idea, hire an offensive coordinator to his liking.

My Dad can't stand Dan Snyder...
... ever since Snyder cut down a bunch of trees on park service land next to the C&O Canal towpath, just so he could get a better view of the Potomac River. So now, when you are walking down the nice, bucolic towpath, you get a nice, big fat view of Dan Snyder's ugly-ass house.

Snyder had to pay a small fine and replant a bunch of trees. My dad says most of the trees that got replanted are now dead.

What a selfish prick.

look on the bright side
A better view of the river for him = a better shot at his house for us.
