Sun article re: New Jumbotron

New $5.2M scoreboard will be ready by March 31:

http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/local/baltimore_city/bal-scoreboard0109,0,476331.story?track=rss

Here is an "artist's" rendering of what the scoreboard will look like once completed:

The article also says that the right field out-of-town scoreboard is being replaced, as well as  the auxiliary scoreboard that are along the club- and upper-levels.

Now, all they gotta do is replace that awful Legg Mason scoreboard with an old-fashioned hand-operated scoreboard and we're in business.

Wow.
Things must be getting pretty tight at the ol' Baltimore Sun.  I don't know if I'd call someone's 9 year old nephew an "artist" even if he is pretty good at cutting & pasting in Paint.

Our fans are better than yours.

re:
It'd look kinda doofy to have a GIANT VIDEO SCREEN and then a manually operated scoreboard.

Thanks for the time that you've given me...

Postmodern
It'd look great.  Old and new together in perfect harmony etc.  They could even use some sort of graphical theme on the video screen to emulate an old-timey feel.

It's a matter of taste, I know, but I'm sure we can ALL agree that the Legg Mason scoreboard looks like absolute shit.

Solution: hand operated video screen!
Each pixel expertly changed to blue, red, yellow, or black as the situation calls for by a team of highly trained interns grateful for the chance to work in Major League Baseball (TM) -- one could turn out to be Theo Epstein!
