PREDICTERY AND FORESIGHT

Cubs in 5 (they're better)

Brewers in 4 (no particular reason)

White Sox in 4 (they've got mojo if you ask me)

Angels in 5 (frankly it could go either way, and I think people who see the Sox as huge underdogs have their heads up their behinds.  Of course all series could go either way in this crazy sport, so what's the point of predicting then? Fun? Profit???)

Cubs in 7 (they're better) MVP: Derrek Lee

Angels in 5 (they're better, mojo runs out) MVP:  Torii Hunter

Cubs in 6 (why not) MVP: Aramis Ramirez

Pretty good picks.

I’d change two things:

Rays in 4 (I don’t think the WS mojo is that strong)

Angels in 4 over RS (they’re better)

Other than that, I think you’re spot on.

I, too, like to predict!

Cubs in 5, Dodgers make them sweat
Brewers in 4

White Sox in 5, I don’t like the Rays lineup much
Angels in 5, but this is the toss-up series to me

Cubs in 5, no Sheets kills the Brewers and Sabathia runs out of gas again
Angels in 6, they’re better

Angels in 7, Cubs fans die more inside

Predictions!

At which I’m always totally incorrect!

Cubs in 3 (Dodgers Suck!)
Brewers in 5 (nail biter!)

Rays in 4 (Mohawks are fun!)
Red Sox in 5 (this might be the best series of the post season, too bad half of it will be on the west coast)

Cubs in 4 (SWEEEEP!)
Red Sox in 7 (much to my chagrin)

Red Sox in 6 (Sorry Cubs fans!)

Honestly, though. Even though I have the Red Sox winning it all, I think they could lose in the first round easily. But I feel like if they can top the Angels they’ll be unstoppable.

I’m the same way, I can see the Red Sox beating the Angels and if they do, they’d be my WS pick. It’s the winner of that series for me. I like the Rays and all but I don’t see it.

I'm hoping the Devil Rays beat the Dogers

Joe Torre going to the WS would be a good way to stick it to the Yankees. The Dodgers losing to the Devil Rays would be a good way to stick it to Joe Torre….

Devil Rays over Phillies would also be good

If the Phillies lose to Tampa Bay, they will have lost a World Series to every team in the AL East.

I don’t care much for predictions… so I’ll just jump to the point, and for no apparent reason, and with no analysis I say Cubs, Rays, Rays in 6.

I will be routing as hard for the Brew Crew

as I have any team not named the Orioles in the postseason, but I don’t see them beating the Phillies. I know, I posted this after game one. The big game is tomorrow, if they get a split on the road with CC on the mound, mission accomplished and they have home field, but now that Ben Sheets is out…
But speaking of the Brewers, they have so many guys that I legitimately have always liked as ballplayers, like Ryan Braun (c’mon us chosen people stick together), Mike Cameron, Bill Hall, Ray Durham, and Prince Fielder. Plus it’s Milwaukee, everybody loves the state of Wisconsin.

Phillies are playing the Dodgers in the NLCS, not the Cubs.

Predictions based on mascots

Division Series’:
Rays over White Sox
(socks are inanimate objects, so any living sea creature could defeat them)

Red Sox over Angels
(while they are inanimate, at least socks are real. Angels are fictional.)

Dodgers over Cubs
(if you can dodge a trolley, chances are you can dodge an immature bear)

Brewers over Phillies (what the hell is a “Phillie”, anyway? If it’s a female horse, then I think a brewer could beat it.)

Championship Series’:
Rays over Red Sox
(see my reasoning from the Rays/WS div. series)

Brewers over Dodgers
(You can’t dodge well when you’re drunk)

World Series:

Rays over Brewers
(Not enough beer to pour into the ocean to defeat them)

they're kinda both

on the RAYS on the front of their jersey they have a little sun on one of the letters, but they still have the stingray on their sleeve… some kinda identity crisis, huh?

Really?

That’s BS man. Nobody should be allowed to have multiple team mascots. They’re still my team though. GO RAYS! My cousin offered me a ticket to see the RS and Angels game tonight. I passed because, for no logical reason, I can’t like Angels. i like the Dodgers. They’re my NL team. I’m happy they’re beating the Cubs now although I would like to see the Cubs win the WS so people would shut up about the curse of the billy goat. But the Angels… can’t find a good reason to hate them, other than the stupid rally monkey.

...Prognosticator of Prognosticators...

Red Sox over the Angels in 5
White Sox over Rays in 7 – no short result here

Dodgers over Cubs – probably also a long series. 5 or 6
Phillies over Brewers – in 4.
(Brewers Fun Fact: in the Cactus League they are the Cerveceros on some days since they have many Mex fans in Phoenix. They are still going to get clobbered.)

RedSox over WhiteSox, Dodgers over Phillies, Dodgers win.

…oh yeah, and six more weeks of winter.

so the chisox/rays has to be a “short” series.

not trying to be a jerk, just thought it was worth a mention. besides, being an o’s fan kinda makes you forget what happens in the playoffs.

1. Israelis for Obama
2. How to make your Jewish grandparents in FLA vote for Obama

The first one is a very nice little piece— kind of inspiring, actually. The second is very funny— it’s Sarah Silverman, after all, who can do just hilarious stand-up— and it’s also more than a little raunchy, so be warned.

Unfortunately, a sizable number of Jews will be voting for McCain, especially out of the Orthodox community. Don’t worry, I’m all for Obama, though and I’ve already helped convince an orthodox friend to come to the light.

Predictions (drum rolllllllllll...)

World Series: Angels over Rays in 6.

Post-season Pretend-Parity WS: Angels in 5 over whichever Punk League douches show up. (Yes, the Angels choke 1, just like their 1st game against the Sawx.)

NCAAF: Snodfart 27, The Dame 24 (this year’s major Robber Baron upset— at South Bend!)

Caucusus War: Russia over Georgia in 5 days. Oops, that already happened.

House vote Friday on No Billionaire Left Behind Bailout: Passes. Has to.

Debate: Biden— dumb. Palin— paleolithically dumber.

Election: Obama— 278. McCain— forgets his total.
