I crack up every time I see that picture of Matt Garza. He’s all, “How YOU doin?”

first thing i thought of...
“why are you smiling?”
“b/c i know something you don’t know.”
“what’s that?”
“i am uh-no left-handed!”
…of course, matt garza really isn’t left-handed and has never claimed (to my knowledge) otherwise.

Is it me..
Or has Buck been particularly annoying and embarassing this post-season?

He’s the best pitcher in the league right now (that was right before the second inning).

according to the idiot TBS announcers
the Rays screwed themselves for good by not scoring that inning and only being up 5-0.
“That’s a BIG momentum shift right there.”

I think for the most part, that's true
all of the idiot college girls who became fans after moving to Boston just liked the Red Sox because they thought Pedroia or Ellsbury were cute

Nice game so far
I went into the gym with the Rays up 1-0 and with Red Sox on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out and I thought when I came back the Rays would be losing for sure. Nice surprise that they weren’t!

Can the Os get Jay Howell for Christmas?
That 4-pitch 3-out stint the inning before last was one of the baddest things I’ve seen in a while. Got Pedroia to ground into an inning-ending DP just after the Sox scored to make it 5-1 and have two men on base…the fans clapping, screaming, etc. Not so fast, PHN.
Just as I type this a Bay Ray hits a HR and a Sox fan stupidly tosses the ball back on the field. I pay 150 bucks for a seat you best believe I’m keeping the MF ball no matter who hit it.

Except not really
Obviously this doesn’t hold true for all Rays fans, but most of the people at the stadium/posting online look like they did not follow the team at all until this year. They have been bad for ten years, but because of their ineptitude, they never built up a fan base.

Stacey didn't say "Imagine you were a Rays bandwagoner"
She said imagine if you were a Rays fan. They’re out there, and right now I’ll bet that they feel really really good. Giddy is probably a good word to use when describing how Rays fans probably feel right now.
Sigh. I want to feel that way too :/

You're right
But I’d venture to say that the vast majority of current Rays fans have hopped on recently. I do understand that there are a few Devil Rays fans out there, however.

Who cares?
Teams that have been bad for a long time like the O’s and Pirates have a history of greatness that started the tradition of being fans of that team. That’s the only reason they have the fan bases they do. The test will be that if all of these people who realized how awesome baseball is stick around when the Rays stink again.

My point
Was that they don’t appreciate it as much as we would, to be honest. It just seems unfair and I am jealous, that’s all.

How can they think it's unfair
When they have won multiple pennants in the past few years.
I think all of us are a bit bitter, no? I guess I’ve just never bought into the Rays being a likeable team; they’re in our division and are going to crush us for years to come, and that makes me sad.

Yeah I follow you
I dunno, I like it when the little nerdy kids hit a growth spurt over the summer, come back to school in September, and pound on the bullies that tormented them in the past.
Plus, increased competition in the AL East means that MacPhail will have to that much harder to be able to compete. Competition breeds a better product!
