A little over a year ago, Al at Bleed Cubbie Blue posted this story, a first-hand account of a young Cubs fan nearly making it into game six of the World Series in 1945. That may not sound remarkable, but it caught me the right way then, and today, as that young man passed away at the age of 75, it resonates even further. Rest in peace, Bob.
