C Lou Palmisano from the Nashville Sounds (Milwaukee Brewers)

SS Robert Valido from the Birmingham Barons (White Sox)
http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/v/robert-valido.shtml

I haven't looked closely at their histories yet, but this seems like good news.

UPDATE (from duck): We've already flipped Lou Palmisano. From The Sun:
"The Orioles selected catcher Lou Palmisano from the Milwaukee Brewers organization with the fifth pick of today's Rule 5 Draft, but then traded him to the Houston Astros for cash considerations."

Valido’s numbers in the higher leagues are awful. Probably won’t go anywhere, but fills the Brandon Fahey spot on the team.

Palmisano I realize is just a backup catcher, but one with numbers that aren’t quite as bad.

Lou Palmisano

Lou Palmisano is almost certainly going to be traded or sold (mlbtraderumors says to the Astros). The O’s could really use a guy like him on the organization, but theres no way he can stay on the major league squad all year with Wieters being called up eventually and a veteran probably going to be signed.

Haven't we raided the Astros farm system enough?

and we could keep Palmisano on the ML if we wanted to. No-one is saying we HAVE to sign a veteran, although you’re probably right.

I think we were just doing the Astros a solid

Remember they suddenly got interested in Izturis just before we reached an agreement? I think AM told them they could have our pick if they backed off. Just a theory

The Yankees get Sabathia, the Mets get K-rod, and the Orioles get Ryan Freel.

Hmmm

Good theory. I like that.

Oh my God I missed that

Well that certainly sucks. Rocky Cherry wasn’t a terrible pitcher. That hurts.

He wasn't????

28 year old rookie who puts up a 6.35 ERA??? And the year before he put up a NL 5.46 ERA in limited innings? Thats kind of my definition of terrible.

OK, maybe so

but I still kind of liked him. I forgot how old he was.

MiLB

just keeps on giving…

Thanks to mlbtraderumors for the heads up. This is Beau Vaughn who was recently involved in some sort of trade involving PHN and the Strangers. Gotta love the pic.
