MLB.com's Bill Ladson has confirmed that Daniel Cabrera won't be moving far this offseason. It's a one-year deal, pending a physical. The Pirates and Mets were also in contention. Terms were not disclosed.

It seem to me that we might ultimately be trading Daniel Cabrera for Tim Redding this year. I wonder if a one year deal was more attractive for Daniel in a comeback situation. guessing it was marginally higher than the multiyear deal on the table from the Bucs, and banking on the buy-in someone (somewhere) must have on his potential. Guthrie vs Cabrera showdown...the Battle o' the Beltway will be interesting this year.
