WASHINGTON -- The Nationals and right-hander Daniel Cabrera have agreed to a one-year contract, pending a physical, according to three baseball sources. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Nats, Cabrera agree to one-year deal | MLB.com: News
Watching him bat 35 games a year should be considered cruel and unusual punishment for Nats fans. As if just watching that team wasn't punishment enough...

I wonder....
…if that will affect Tex’s decision…

i'm sure not only tex's fate
but the fate of the western world hinged on Cabrera’s decision. The dominos will all fall into place now.

That's what I was thinking as well
My best game plan is to sit on the bench and call out specific instructions like 'C'mon Boog,' 'Get ahold of one, Frank,' or 'Let's go, Brooks.' -Earl Weaver

They’d be better off to wait pending a mental.

Update
1 year, $2.6 million
less than we would’ve ended up paying via arbitration raise.

Less than we paid last year
And still more than he’s worth. Unless you look at baseball players as entertainers.
The Yankees get Sabathia, the Mets get K-rod, and the Orioles get Ryan Freel.

$2.6 million for a guy that gives you 170-200 innings
is like paying $7.99 for a DVD of a movie you sort of like. It’s really not a big deal at all. $2.6 mil is chump change.

Or
Like someone hacked into your Netflix account and you it took you forever to straighten it out. You got send whatever was on the list, and a couple of the movies were pretty good, but for the most part they sucked.

Aren't a bit scared...
that after enough futile attempts “swinging” the bat he might just flip out and head hunt with the bat?

Gonna go see him. I’m gonna have scorecards of him losing his cool in BOTH leagues.
