Sun says deal's going down...

...FINALLY.

http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/baseball/bal-bedard204,0,7271042.story

To sum up: Jones is indeed taking a physical. If he passes, deal might be announced today.

Please, Warehouse, don't eff this one up.

Now, on to the Roberts trade drama...

let me post, let me post, let me post, let me post

Editor's Note (zk):A "source" also said Jones was in Baltimore taking a physical Friday, which was later debunked. But let's hope the Sun actually verified this before deciding to run with it.

UPDATE: Just found this was reported yesterday by the Seattle Post Intelligencer, so this is looking pretty confirmed.

Well, it's about time
I loved reading about those pitchers in the PI article. Still, let's see that announcement this afternoon.

From the immortal wisdom of Robert Johnson....
It's the last fair deal goin' down,
last fair deal goin' down
It's the last fair deal goin' down, good Lord,
on that Gulfport Island Road...

Please, Ida Belle, don't cry this time
Ida Belle, don't cry this time
If you cry about a nickel, you'll die 'bout a dime
She wouldn't cry, but the money won't mind....

I remember 14 straight foul balls in one at-bat.

Good note on Mariners blog
for what it's worth

For what it's worth, George Sherrill has not returned my calls for nearly 24 hours -- in complete contrast to what he'd done prior to yesterday. Sherrill usually returns all of them within the hour. A class act who will be missed in Seattle. This should be a good deal for both teams, no doubt about it. They are both getting pieces they want. Who "wins" this deal might not be determined for at least a year. It's very possible both teams will win.
