Troy Patton
The news just keeps getting worse.
The Orioles shut down Troy Patton after about 10 throws in the bullpen today because he couldn't get loose. He's still dealing with tightness in his left shoulder.
Dr. John Wilckens, the new team orthopedist, will examine Patton tomorrow.
Patton most likely will get another magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) test on his shoulder. The first one was inconclusive, but Patton will have an arthrogram tomorrow, where dye is injected in the shoulder and reveals any tears.
Patton is believed to have a SLAP tear, and he's probably going to need surgery, though he's still hoping to avoid it.
