Around SBN: Kentucky Basketball: Where the Wildcats Stand as of Today

Good morning...

What's new with YOU?

First things first -- PLEASE read the post below this one, where Trei (one of our excellent tech guys) and his team are happy to answer any questions you may have about the new platform.

A few notes from my end about the change:

1. You're going to like it.
2. I got so caught up in Easter crap this weekend that I didn't get the time to bring over sidebar links and the like. If you are an O's blogger that used to be on the sidebar as a linked site (or if you never were but want to be) then please let me know, as I'm happy to add or re-add you.
3. Seriously, you're going to like it. Don't crap your pants.

Other than that, nothin' new with me.

good times.

My head is exploding a little, but, whatever.

At least we can let the new format distract us from Orioles suckiness.

Lervly

I dig it so far. It distracts me from the pollen count ruining my life right now.

What is best in life? To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women.

Maybe one day I'll like it

but yeah, I think the new set-up is pretty dumb. There's too much going on and it looks like the sports bar of blogs. I'll probably bump into a poster in a white hat/backwards cap in any moment.

HEY

*I* wear a backwards cap -- because my head is so big that caps frontways look silly.

so....

you must be a catcher or an asshole.....

and before you think i am being, well, an asshole, i think assholes are pretty funny and i like most of them!

re:

I wear no caps for the same reason (well, sometimes to baseball games, but I look really dumb). I have a big head and this big bushy hair, the caps barely fit and look awful.

by pipkin on Mar 24, 2008 10:53 PM EDT up reply actions

When my hair is short, I'm OK with the right cap. If I let it grow out at all, I'm boned. One size DOES NOT FIT ALL, GODDAMN IT.

With a fitted, I'm comfortably an 8. I could wear a 7 3/4 probably but eh. And with fitteds, I hate messing with the brim. Another reason to wear it backwards!

Oooooh

This is crazy. I guess I dig it, it'll take a lil getting used to though.

well...

i fear change, but in time, i'm sure i'll learn to laugh and love again.

i love that Higgy Baby photo!

sweet, huh?

anybody else think the generic yowling fan icon looks like barack obama?

A little busy

Yeah, it could be cleaner. Everyone's avatars next to their fanposts on the home page makes it kind of cluttered. I guess we'll deal, though.

good feedback

We introduced the avatars in the fanposts list to give y'all more credit on the home page for what y'all contribute to the community.

I'm kinda liking it

It's a visual shorthand for us ADD types - I can look and see if it's someone I usually read or somone I usually ignore (I'm looking at you, AMA).

I'm sad there's no more photos in sig lines.

I can dig it.

It'll take a little getting used to, but I try not to fear change.

I like it

Its fresh, its new, and the evil bird in the corner survived the change!

i like things

This will take me a bit to get used to, least for a minute. I do like how much easier it is to link and bold and shit.

well...

It's fairly attractive, though a little cluttered. The old interface was definitely looking dated, so this is pretty solid.

Harder to read who is posting, though. Get used to that, I guess.

by pipkin on Mar 24, 2008 1:36 PM EDT reply actions

oh, also

the fixed-width is annoying, because it doesn't fully utilize my screen, but whatever.

by pipkin on Mar 24, 2008 1:37 PM EDT up reply actions

If it means anything....

us old-fart types who need to enlarge the type with Firefox appreciate the fact it scales nicely and doesn't screw up the page.

I'm sad there's no more photos in sig lines.

by duck on Mar 24, 2008 1:40 PM EDT reply actions

I just noticed...

...if you're in one diary (fanpost), you don't have to navigate back to the front page to go to another one. That's a HUGE improvement.

New user name

Someone at Athletics Nation, of all places, beat me to it. I call for a meeting of the subcommittee!

You can't fix stupid. Stupid is forever.

I'll get used to it.

Right now, it seems a little cluttered. I also don't like that (at least it appears) you can't have different signatures on different SB nation boards once they all convert to this new format.

I think I'll mostly like it once I've gotten used to it.

Uhhhg

I hate it.

See

My Picture won't show up....now I'll spend 20 minutes trying to get it to show up and it won't. Duck, I'll need your help in a while.

sweet

I'll be curious to see how the "COMPLETE COVERAGE" goes. That'll be nice when I'm at work and they have a day game.
