Fun with Video Jay Gibbons

My MLB 2K8 Jay Gibbons has hit three home runs in a few spot appearances, so I decided I'd test the waters out there. I don't want him on my team, but I like to be realistic as possible about these things with my video games. I can't just cut the brother, I want to trade him.

You need Flanny and Duquette running one of the other teams in your league. They might take Payton, Baez, and Huff as well.

I actually LOL'ed at that screengrab.

"The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again."

Gibby

Is there some hotshot outfielder, 1B guy in the system that Gibbons is keeping from playing? If he makes the team, Tike Redman goes to Norfolk. There are no minor league hitters that he is blocking. The team seems committed to giving most of the DH at bats to the youngsters( Huff and Millar).
There is no rebuilding going on this year at the major league level. The starters are all over 30 except Markakis, Jones and Hernandez. We will lose 90 games this year while the old guys take all the playing time.
I am disappointed that Andy McP. couldn't get some young bats in his trades. The rumored Cubs package seems to have none, either

What's weird is that

in my updated MVP 2008 season he is the hottest f*ing hitter we have - he's hit 5 HRs halfway through April and is holding down the four spot. I couldn't wait to trade him but now in fantasy electronic land he's the most productive hitter I have.

Stupid horseface.

Baseball is a red-blooded sport for red-blooded men. It's no pink tea, and mollycoddles had better stay out.

Markakis is really struggling early for me. So is Scott, though Scott's hit a few dingers. I'm the type of person who likes to interact with my video games. C'MON, NICK. JESUS.
