Luke Scott's Right to Giant Bear Arms..

Luke Scott is a monster. He's undoubtedly going to hit over .400 this year, with an endless supply of home runs, etc. But off the field, he is a little kitten, and needs protection!

When the Baltimore Orioles traded for outfielder Luke Scott, they figured they were adding an offensive weapon, but they probably didn't realize that weapon came with a weapon. Scott recently revealed that he carries a concealed Glock pistol almost everywhere he goes according to a report in the Los Angeles Times.

"We live in an imperfect world," Scott said. "If you have money and fame, you're more of a target to the criminal element. There are people who steal, who murder people for what they have. That's the reality of life. If you're not prepared, it could cost you your life."

Between him and Jamie Walker, you'd think the Orioles have more firepower than the Waco Branch Davidian.

Hell, I could walk by Luke Scott 100 times and not recognize him in real life.

*shrug*

yeah

this topic became the cause for much consternation in a Thread Gone Wild before the season started.

Suffice it to say I'm happy Luke is hitting and contributing. He has big straight hair - like me & Al Pacino - so that's an added bonus. Beyond that I hope he doesn't get too into the off field topics during his tenure with the O's.

His bicycle has a gun rack.

"The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again."

Potentially volatile topics are #1

I really enjoyed the thread gone wild from earlier this year re: Luke Scott's guns guns guns, and would be happy to provide my minority opinion (ie supporting Luke) to any future discussions.

He's a card carrying member

of the Republican party, who is bitter about his economic status (MLB Minimum) in this country and takes refuge in religion, guns & anti-immigrant sentiment as a result. There. I said it.
