First off, we really need to work on keeping the opposing teams from scoring so early in the game. This is becoming a bad habit, and putting a lot of pressure on the offense. Secondly, Markakis has clearly became the leader of the club, and is looking well at the plate when he gets thrown a decent pitch. We clearly need to lock this guy up for a long time.
Roberts had a tough game early on with a costly error early in the game, but delivered with a double when it mattered. Mora, also worked the count nicely and had a big single to score Roberts to tie the game. Millar also had a good game, he showed his boy in the stands he got game.
Honestly, once Guthrie gave up them runs early on I was debating whether to turn off the T.V. and go outside and enjoy the nice weather, but I had hope in our team. When Mora stepped up to the plate I didn't have much confidence in him as he is always swinging for the fences this season, but he proved me wrong with a solid hit up the middle.
The bullpen did well as expected keeping us in the game for the chance to come back. Guillermo Quiroz had an excellent game, and really showed his speed in the 9th hustling his way around the basis, I like this kid. Adam Jones delivered in the clutch with the game winning base hit, he's growing on me every game. Once he works out the tweaks in his game, he is going to be a hell of a player. All around good game not including Guthrie and Huff.
Lets bring on the Yanks!!
