Gamers

This is so great -- I am making a fanpost.  I am so glad that they are called "fanposts" now because that speaks to me as a sports fan.  I always felt, for the lack of a better word, gay, when I used to post diaries.  It made me feel like I was opening my heart up to everyone, and as a male sports fan, I grunt a lot, eat pizza, drink Coors Light and spend a lot of time VENTING.

Star-divide

This past week, our beloved Orioles have had some tough opponents, and some of those guys are real GAMERS. These are guys that live and breath baseball and will do anything to win -- ANYTHING.  These guys inspire me to do more in my everyday life, so I'd like to share with you why I am so inspired by them.

AJ Perzinskyzz (off topic, I know a girl named AJ who is pretty hot)

As illustrated by this picture, this guy doesn't take shit from NO ONE. You punch him, he's going to punch back thrice as hard. He eats dirt for breakfast, lunch and dinner and nothing will stop him from playing, not a bloody mouth, broken arm or smashed face, and it looks like the latter has already happened to him. He is the king of all GAMERS.

Derek Jeter

This man is the most storied player from the most storied franchise in the universe. Everything he touches turns to gold, especially routine ground balls to short. Don't let this photo confuse you, he is not a nancy boy -- even gamers need to smell nice, but when Jeter is in the pinstripes, he can do no wrong. With each swing of the bat, the debt of developing African nations is forgiven and angels get their wings. This guys is what it means to be a gamer.

Alex Rodriguez (AKA A-Rod)

He will break Barry "Everyone's Out To Get Me" Bonds' (tainted) HR record because he is all about hustle, being a team player and honoring the traditions of the great game of baseball.  This guy lives and breathes for playing every single fucking day and is known by other baseball players as a consummate professional -- he's so professional that he even gets his nails done between each inning.  He's not a pretty boy -- he just knows that gamers need to look good.

That's all for now!  Who are the players that you feel are GAMERS?

FanPosts are user-created content and do not necessarily reflect the views of the editors of Camden Chat or SB Nation. They might, though.

Who would punch your fucking teeth out if you called him “short”..

I say “would” because he can’t reach your mouth.

Gamers < Good Players

Darrin Erstad was a gamer. He punted for Nebraska and ran into things and totally sucked.

Ozzie Guillen was a gamer. He couldn’t hit and made a lot of errors, but he looked like he was trying really hard when he did nothing of value for his team.

whoa. whoa whoa.

Guillen was a good defensive shortstop. ...that’s about it.

Erstad had one monster season. That’s about it.

Hey did you know Darin Erstad played football at Nebraska? He was the punter. Think about that. FOOTBALL. This guy is TOUGH. Only tough people play football. Football causes a lot of injuries. Ask the mother of an eight-year old, she’ll tell you.

My favorite firejoemorgan.com quote about Darrin Erstad

“He might punt you with his college football-playing punting foot if you don’t get out of his damn way.”

I remember Guillen as being a good defender

he was no Luis Luis & the Cult Jam though
