OT: (NYC) I am doing a gig on Wed. on the LES

I know, it's Wednesday night -- I am with you there.  I don't like staying out past 10 during the week any longer, but it's part of the job.

Star-divide

I am doing a show at Rehab (formerly Midway) featuring the talents of NYC bands The Teenage Prayers, Holler Wild Rose and Breaking Laces.  It's going to be fun, and if I have my way, started by 9 and over by midnight.

And it's only 3$.  If you find me, I can get you a drink ticket or two.

Avenue B

Only old people still call that the LES.

Nowadays it’s the East Village, Alphabet City, or Bachlorette Party Central.

No, I mean much older

The area north of Houston hasn’t been called the LES by most people since before you were born.

It doesn’t really matter, though. All of Manhattan is pretty much the same at this point.

Are you playing a show in June?

I’m going to be in Manhatten for an extended amount of time in June.

My best game plan is to sit on the bench and call out specific instructions like 'C'mon Boog,' 'Get ahold of one, Frank,' or 'Let's go, Brooks.' -Earl Weaver

Well, I am not playing

it’s a show that my company puts on once a month, albeit with different bands. And yeah, there will be one in June. The 18th, I believe.

What the hell is LES?

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Geez

New Yorkers always thinks everyone around the country knows just as much about their city as they do.

Most New Yorkers

Don’t even know there is civilization past the boundaries of Brooklyn.
