Watching other games
I'm watching the ends of Reds-Brewers.
Gagne got the first two in the ninth, right? And he went 2-2 to Corey Patterson, and they said, "Two out, two strikes, Corey Patterson is the last hope for the Reds." I thought, "Good luck, Reds!"
Instead Patterson tied it with a dong.
Go figure.
Right now my FanPost is only 55 words long. Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.
I miss my admin power to overcome that shit.
FanPosts are user-created content and do not necessarily reflect the views of the editors of Camden Chat or SB Nation. They might, though.

Admins have to obey that silly rule now?
Fuck!
"The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again."

Gagne will be lucky if he isn't cut by July

man
Gagne is too bad. From what I've seen (which admittedly is scattered appearances) he's just leaving his fastball up too much. Which you can't do as a closer, of course.

maybe he was lights out
but no closer should ever win the Cy Young.
Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

well no
Maybe if one of them had, like, a 0.13 ERA or saved 80 games, then I could sort of see it. For something amazingly unique, fine. It's a writers award and half the time it goes to the wrong guy anyway.

Dude had 55 saves
0 Blown Saves
1.20 ERA
137 K
Second best in the voting was 17-5, with a 2.34 ERA. Thats very good, but Gagne was better.

seriously?
jason schmidt pitched 208 innings w/ said 2.34 ERA and a.95 WHIP. now, gagne had a .65 WHIP, which is ridiculously good, but do that shit over 200 innings, not 80 and then i'll be impressed.

no he wasn't
Jason Schmidt threw 208 innings. 208 innings is exceptionally more valuable than 80.

It'd be like Moises Alou winning the MVP award because he hit really well when he wasn't injured.
Is there a more intriguing non-HOF case than Alou's? Imagine if that guy hadn't gotten injured ALL THE TIME. Jesus, he can hit.

to clarify...
i think he's a no-brainer, but how many pinheads in the bbwwa do you think have a beef w/ electing a dude who was primarily a dh?

There's a pool going as to which closer loses his gig first
Gagne or Wood.
Pick the closer and the date each one gets the hook. Winner gets fabulous prizes! (I'm guessing).

Wood
May 19 at Houston.
Sweet Lou will not be a patient man. They should've gotten rid of Wood the same as they did Prior.

If Borowski couldn't pitch his way out of the spot last year, can he this year?

Betancourt
He's too good not to get the call at some point. Borowski skated through last year because he mostly "got the job done" (he got lots of Saves to impress old-school baseball types) and his ERA was inflated by a few horrendous outings. What those facts overlooked was that his WHIP was positively terrifying even when he did manage to eke out a save. It's going to catch up to him this year.

seriously, reds...
if arroyo can put together a decent season it's gravy. i didn't realize how good harang has gotten and i'm real high on johnny cueto and edison volquez.
for their sakes, it's a shame the reds hired dusty baker.

Yeah, it's gonna be a pity when their arms fall off
in June.
