Off-topic: NO NO NO NO NO
I just flipped by ESPN2 and on First Take, they had Scoop Jackson and Skip Bayless on my TV at the same time.
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO
This is the worst thing I've ever seen, not counting Skip and Mariotti on TV at the same time. Actually Scoop wasn't quite as hideous as his ridiculous articles might lead you to believe he would be. I still would like Skip Bayless to watch a sport sometime, though.

Nah, the WORST ever
would be Chris Berman, STEPHEN A. SMITH and Skip Bayless.
And STEPHEN A. SMITH gets all caps because he yells all the time.

I only watch ESPN when forced at the gym.
That’s bad enough.
I think everyone in Baltimore should stay the hell out of he EPSN Zone in the Inner Harbor. I don’t know why you’d walk in and support the enterprise. Let them move exclusively to boston and new york. Oh, and perhaps Chicago.

ESPN sucks
Skip “Plastic Surgery” Bayless and Screamin’ A. Smith are the worst.
Seriously, a grown man who calls himself Skip?

I have really festered up my hate for ESPN in the last year
Not coincidentally, I have started to watch the CBC Hockey Night in Canada segments on the internet. It’s so ridiculous up there: they don’t actually target the lowest common denominator and they actually try to teach us about the game. I learned more about hockey in this past year through a television outlet than I have about either football or baseball through a television outlet in my entire life. I have basically had to learn about the intricacies of football/baseball through either getting books about it, or actually playing the sport.
I mean ESPN can have NFL Live on each day, but it still does a crappy job of covering the NFL because there is so little substance in the shows, besides actual transaction news that they gloss over anyway. They always have to have stupid segment topics like “which player has the most pressure on him to perform in the AFC South” and then they have their answers already revealed on the bottom bar a split second before they say them. It looks so contrived and lightweight, which I can say about pretty much anything on ESPN.
And Buzz Bissinger really wonders why sports fans have started blogging: its because our sports coverage is light and we want to talk about actual subject matter and not need a timer to tell us when to stop.
(For those who saw the Buzz Bissinger segment on Costas Now, did he not come off as being entirely too angry about something that in the long run really should never deserve that much attention in the first place. He’s a fine writer, but that outburst was really inappropriate. That kind of anger should seriously be directed at assholes like Dick Cheney, not Deadspin)
Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Bissinger on Costas
It was uncharacteristically odd and very surprising. I mean he’s free to dislike bloggers and I understand his point of view, but man did he hit all the wrong notes. Using comments on a web site as proof of anything is staggeringly stupid, and what’s bothersome about that is he’s not a stupid man.

"He's not a stupid man..."
but he sure played on on TV.

What would do if we didn’t have Digger Phelps wasn’t there to remind us that highlighters are a fashion statement?
