Dum Dum Damon: You don't run on Nicky!
Michael Kay : “It was close.”
Rest of the world: “No it wasn’t.”

Johnny got smoked. Plain and simple.
"The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again."

Gee, I guess somebody else thought Kay was wrong.
Suddenly we’ve got the MASN crew. Palmer’s talking. There’s a surprise.

Aubrey Huff skillfully ends that threat with a swing that looked more like Aubrey Beardsley.

after Olson's last start.. i quickly jumped back to "i don't like him."
I can’t stand a guy who pitches poorly and then thinks that he actually pitched well “minus a few bad pitches.”
That was pretty typical of Sidney Ponson.. (and Erik Bedard, actually..)
Apparently, Olson is no longer like that… and I’ll believe him or forgive him. As long as he wins the rest of his starts.

Peter Schmuck wrote an article called "Stop Complaining"
Re: Orioles lack of offense. He says going into this season we should have expected this sort of offense.
I couldn’t find an email or a link to write back “fuck off.”
There’s something about an entire team hitting below their career averages which I find unacceptable. Can’t hit for power? Fine, we expected that. Can’t hit .300? Fine, we expected that too. I did not expect our players to struggle to avoid the Mendoza line, and get picked off and thrown out stealing at an embarrassing clip.
Schmuck off. I want to complain. I’m from Baltimore.

Because he’s awful.

if he pitches like he's used to pitching in OPACY..
then yes, he should be godawful and we should add to the lead.

I tuned in after watching Syracuse destroy Hopkins.
Good news here. Looks like Olson had a good day in a tense game (until recently). Where did the 7 K’s come from? Liberal strike zone?
Always good to see the Yankees losing.

dude, relax
he’s been pitching a lot better lately..
and he was one of our best relievers last year, and has been pretty good throughout his career.
I’m sure he’s going to be just fine..
by Y Not on May 26, 2008 4:27 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
How long are you going to say that?
He does awful almost every time he pitches. That was a terrible outing just now. Like every other one he has.
by O'sFan21 on May 26, 2008 4:28 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
lol even forgetting about results - don't you see that his stuff just sucks?
It’s slow, loopy, and flat.
His last 7 appearances here are his numbers:
4 innings, 8 hits, 2 walks. That’s absolutely terrible and most of it is against lefties. He’s just been ridiculously lucky to “only” give up 2 runs over that span. If that’s “pitching a lot better lately” then I don’t want to see pitching badly.

Thorne (regarding an old orange Palmer jersey someone in the stands was wearing): You get anything for that?
Uncle Jim: Nope
Thorne (just as serious as can be): Are you kidding, good agent.
found that to be humorous and thought I’d share.

Good thing after being swept by the powerful Rays, the O’s get to come home to face a lousy team like the Yankees.

Went to the game today!
Kicked ass. The Yankee fans I thought were pretty well behaved and there was absolutely no tension between the fan bases, since there were so many kids at the game. Most fun I’ve had at an orioles game in a while.
Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

I second that assessment
Went with my wife and kids (thank GOD for Section 15 tix in the shade!) and was quite impressed with the attitude and behavior of the MFY fans. I was expecting jerks, I got Cardinals fans! Sure, they did a little cheering, but I only heard one, rather faint, “Lets Go Yankees” cheer, and it died quickly.
And my God does Markakis have an arm. You just can’t appreciate the distance of his throws on TV.
And my daughter was impressed by the markers in front of the warehouse – especially when I walked her over the the flagcourt to show here where home plate was. Giambi hit on or two onto the flagcourt during BP, and she was amazed a baseball could be hit that far.
