Seriously we'd be better off having pitchers hit for themselves and DH for him.
He has no prayer of doing anything at the plate.
was anything more predictable this season...
than that at bat by Bynum? Not to be negative or anything, but I already knew that, with two runners in scoring postion, he’d make a weak out to end the inning.
Really sad to have automatic outs in the lineup.
Of course not, because he's a fucking attrocious hitter.
I’ve never seen a major leaguer load up, get his hands back nicely, time the pitch well, and then make such pathetic contact so consistently. It’s embarrassing for the organization.
we should have signed Adam Everett
His bat sucks too but at least he has mad fielding skills.
Wolf, wolf, wolf.
I'm sayin'!

And no way he doesn't suck as bad as Bynum at hitting.
I still don’t get why we don’t just play Cintron – he’s not a bad fielder and twice as good of a hitter.
‘Cause he wasn’t rubbin’ balls with Dave in the spring or last season, impressing with his hustle and tryhard.

MLB.TV blacked out the game because Houston is close to New Orleans. So I’ll be posting in between innings because my TV and computer aren’t right next to each other .

Frickin Fathers Day, i wasnt really following the game, I was helping my mom cook for my dad
Why do they act like Bynum is a base stealer?
Isn’t he like 2-5 in SB attempts??? He’s obviously just as bad at that as he is at hitting.
There's a pretty high standard

what's the scoop on matusz?
and any other draftees?
no word on Matusz
I think their focusing on their lower round guys first. They got their third rounder signed already.

Oh I'm very happy with him as a hitter, but he doesn't cover a whole lot of ground or take good routes out there.
Routes can be coached
not sure about teh cobvering ground.
Ask yourself this – would you rather see JayPay out there?

Jay is a little faster.
If Payton’s a better fielder, it’s not by much.
I think they read the scouting report on JJ throwing first pitch fastballs for strikes...

Hi all
Just got in. Looks like another exciting game. Did Olson give up all 5?
"We’re not concerned about what other teams think. I know teams come in here thinking we’re playing the Orioles. And then 9 innings later, they got the loss, they know what we’re about." ~Adam Jones
I wish
Unfortunately about 98% of the people in my life aren’t really very big baseball fans, so they’ll only go to so many games with me. And since we already went to Turn Back the Clock last Friday and have tickets to Nick bobblehead on Thursday, tonight was kinda pushing it.
"We’re not concerned about what other teams think. I know teams come in here thinking we’re playing the Orioles. And then 9 innings later, they got the loss, they know what we’re about." ~Adam Jones
I thought of asking you if you could snag a shirt
If you went with someone who didn’t care. Then I decided not to impose. Didn’t matter in the end.
Generally speaking
I usually end up with a few extras during giveaways. I snagged 2632 a Millar shirt last year that way. So if anything else comes up you want, just speak up, can’t hurt. Although not many giveaways are as cool as tonight’s.

I would like to impose
on the next floppy hat night that you go to, if I can’t get there.

That approach by Markakis so annoying and uncharacteristic.

We have a few we need to sell high
and Sherril and Luek Scott are probably at teh top of the list. I’m not saying we HAVE to deal them, but their value isn’t going to get much higher after July 31.

First two batters of the inning
are the #8 and #9 hitter and both are right-handed. Houston has no lefties on the bench.
I’d leave JJ in.
So, of course...
we but Shutdown in. :)

This is a closer's situation
Sherrill has been money almost all year. You let the guy close.
Having him in there in a tie game late in the game? he hasn’t been so hot. But he’s our closer, gotta have faith in him.
Especially with the #8 and #9
Great chance to get back on the horse that threw ya and get things back on straight.
"I wasn't here for the losing years. But it feels a little like the days with Earl in charge and John Lowenstein smashing birthday cakes in the middle of the clubhouse with a bat." - John "T-Bone" Shelby
yes, but he doesn't do very well in those situations...
i wouldn’t use him in a tie game at all..
for me
It’s not really about faith, it’s about the fact that he’s pitched a lot lately.

About 20 times this year we've come back while we're losing..
this time we did it in the 8th inning. You have to keep reminding yourself that last year we were basically guaranteed to lose the game at this point.
Considering what our team is, what they were expected to do, the division they play in, and what they are currently doing – it’s almost a Disney movie.
Hope we keep this up.
Gotta keep winning the games we can win
20 come-from-behind wins is great, but the O’s are still just 1 game over .500. Just goes to show how much we still have to do to this lineup to be competitive. But I truly think, for the first time in 10 years, we have a FO that can actually do it.
