Quotes from Bavasi about Bedard
Here's what Bill Bavasi had to say on his way out the door about the beloved Erik Bedard, from Tacoma's News Tribune:
We asked him about Bedard and his unwillingness to go past 100 pitches...
"You have to ask him and I know that's no fun. And he's going to have a stupid answer for you can count on it. He's going to have some dumb-ass answer."
"He's either gassed because he's laboring. He's protecting himself because he knows even he sticks around and is mediocre he gets another 2 million bucks lopped onto his salary."
"Why doesn't he go longer? It's a real pointed question. But you need to ask him. And good luck with that."
Here's the link to the full article. Priceless.

Pedro Martinez is treated like a Lamborghini his entire career
and nobody complains. Bedard isn’t that different, so treat him accordingly.
Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Bedard isn't in Martinez's league
One is a can’t miss hall of famer. Bedard had one good year that about matches Martinez’s career average.

Way to eliminate all doubt about whether you should have been fired
It wasn’t exactly a secret that Bedard doesn’t pitch when he’s tired. A minimal amount of research would have turned that up. Far less research than I would expect a reasonable man would make before trading away his second best RP, his best young ML player; his top ptiching prospect and two more mid-tier pitching prospects.
If this is such a problem; then why did Willy trade for him??? And if his answer is “I didn’t know” thenthere is no doubt that the only job Bill should have is filling in for Steve Phillips on BBTN.

I liked him a lot, too
but I’m glad the O’s will be the “last one in” to take advantage of that retard.

what the hell..
I don’t know why I missed this part:
“On what reporters can expect when they ask Erik Bedard about not being able to pitch deep into the game: “He’ll have a stupid answer for you, you can count on it. He’ll have some dumb ass answer.’”
That could very well be the funniest thing I’ve read related to baseball in years
