According to The Sun's Jeff Zrebiec, the Orioles have designated infielder Freddie Bynum for assignment and brought up pitcher Ryan Bukvich from Triple-A Norfolk.

The first clue came when Bukvich was spotted in the visiting clubhouse at Miller Park. Then Bynum was summoned into manager Dave Trembley's office. Bynum declined comment when approached by reporters. Oscar Salazar apparently will back up Alex Cintron at shortstop. Bukvich was a career reliever until joining Norfolk's rotation last month.

Freddie Bynum just got Byron Leftwich'ed

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Pretty much

Just like Luis, he was given every opportunity to make the job his. And just like Luis, he couldn’t do it. Credit to the FO for making the decision. This year’s club actually gets rid of people who don’t perform…

Calling up Bukvich strikes me as throwing spaghetti against the wall. I doubt it will stick.

Maybe concerns are brewing about the bullpen when the starters (Liz, Olson, Burres) can’t get to the 6th inning. I don’t have recent stats in front of me, but I don’t recall these guys going deep into games any time recently.

Bynum? Who really cares. The SS position has been a wash all season. Bynum may be a tad better than Cintron defensively, but he’s just pitiful at the plate.

The holes in the O’s system may start to be more exposed as the season wears on. When/if it all starts going downhill, I’ll still be content to see a top draft pick. The O’s really need talent in the system.

Bye Bye, Boom Boom

... we’ll see you again at the Yard, I think, but not until you get that batting problem worked out.

well then

We won’t see him again at the Yard. He can’t hit.
