Welll....

I did a rough draft for last night and SC killed it and replaced it with better stuff, so I didn’t bother with a rough draft today, figuring SC would add stuff. I guess I will now.

:)

I know, I know, TMI.

BTW

all the stuff is SC’s. By the time I saw it needed stuff, SC was already adding it.

Seems to me

you make that much money and only have 162 work days, you better damn sight do what you can to make all of them.

they work more than 162 days

spring training, winter leagues, etc… and 162 days of work with nary a day off in between and tooooons of travel isnt exactly fun. i dont know about you, but i wouldnt want to work 21 days straight. or show up to work and find out 4 hours later work was cancelled for the day and I have to work twice as long the next day. when you look at it as a job and not as baseball, its pretty f’ed up.

that being said, they make waaaaaaaaaay enough money to compensate for any of that and i’m just excited for albers to start. obviously they shouldnt be missing starts due to hangovers (ahem ponson…)

That we can agree on. Dude’s sick, dude’s sick. That’s understandable. I would have a problem with a player tying one on the day before a game and THAT being the reason he can’t play. That’s unprofessional.

Getting a cold or a blister on a finger when you’re a pitcher, well, shit happens, and if you can’t go, you can’t go.

But taking actions that LEAD to you not being able to do your job, that’s just unprofessional.

I like the O's Hangout

It’s quite different from here, yeah. But there are a lot of folks over there who really know their stuff, so it’s a good read. The problem is since they’re so big you sometimes have to sift through some crap to get to the good stuff. That and some of them tend to spend as much time talking about each other as they do the game, that can get a little tedious. But it’s not a bad place to go when I’m bored at work.

Just prior to the draft I spent a lot of time over there

Their draft coverage was quite good. I know there were a few guys on here who really knew what they were talking about, but over there it was very comprehensive. They do a number of things very, very well, and the draft is one of them. And the game recaps are also very good. I know a lot of people here trash talk them, and I see that angle, but it’s actually not a bad place to spend some time.
