I really wish we played more games against non-divisional AL opponents

I always enjoy when the Orioles visit places like Minnesota, Oakland and Anaheim, regardless of the game’s outcome. Can’t really tell you why, though. That also means I want to see interleague play taken away.

Pretty fun game though. I was unbelievably pissed when the Bynum rundown failed to score Adam Bomb, but I was very proud of Liz’s start tonight and it was all together a pretty good effort.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

man

I never enjoy when the O’s visit Minnesota. That’ll change when they’re out of the dome though.

Not unless they get a roof on that sucker

I don't understand why all stadiums don't have a dome

Camden Yards would look great with a dome

great game

but if we keep running ourselves out of innings all season, i’m going to have a heart attack. just stay on the f-ing base until someone hits the ball! please! first and third, one out, our best hitter at the plate. hey, let’s get picked off first!

otherwise, i’m pretty damn psyched about being out of last place.

Of course

they may rot out there waiting on a hit. And I’m in no way condoning running out of innings.

who pitched for us tonight?

Cuz that didn’t look a thing like the Radhames Liz from last year. Hopefully he can build off this and assist us in putting the Trax in our rearviewmirror.

Liz???

I’m lazy. Had to play softball tonight. How was the start/his stuff? Numbers look good.

following up with the question

Did he have his herky-jerky machanics, or was he smoother? Last year, his body would also occasionally open up towards 1B and no one knew where the pitch was going.

he has...

don’t know if it’s work kranwich did in the offseason or roving instructor dave schmidt, but as i mentioned in last night’s game thread, his walks per 9ip have gone down from 5.1 in 2006 to 3.6 this year. it’s also worth noting that the twins are one of the least patient teams in the league, and are thus maybe a little susceptible to losing to a guy making his 3rd or 4th ML start.

wth

May as well after they blocked the view of the Bromo Selzer tower. They could then paint what the view should be.

Liz was, like, Rad! Way to not get Guthried, dude.

They got him 3 in 5 IP, and he put on an equivalent show of competence. This is all that needs to happen on a more or less regular basis for Guthrie to win 18-22 some year, y’know. In any case, Rad did the job and we’re on a streak. For us.

Tonight it’s Potential All Star Daniel looking to hit double figures [!] in the SC-Z Sweepstakes. Incredible. How many people think Z might’ve, y’know, added a little “incentive” to the pool—sort of, “So, Danny do you know what the term Guest Star means?”

Meanwhile, the Yerks are also on a roll—directly downhill. I’m just crying myself to sleep at night thinking of poor Hank. And he’s trying so hard!

Congrats to all the Obama supporters among us. All we gotta do now is let the Mad Bomber talk long enough in front of network microphones and we’ll have an actual former h.s. athlete throwing out the first ball in Six Hundred Sixty Milion Dollar Nice Shiny Turd Stadium (not its actual name) next April. Pretty cool!

For the record

I suggested a case of beer wager with SC on Cabrera bowl. I would have happily split it with Danny.

NUH UH!

Reading the comments and play-by-play recap. Looks like the O’s still believe they can play the game needing fewer outs than the opposition. Ramon and Bynum giving up outs on the base path (esp. in the middle of what looks like a promising inning) is Diamond Dave baseball.

Amber HR totals need updating!

How bout Kevbo with 9 home runs already? Seems like a lot, I wonder how many he had this time last year.

Barack Obama

might make a decent shortstop. Then again, he might prove to be the new Michael Jordan if he slaps on a pair of spikes.
