Anyone else feel like the Sox lineup

isn’t all that scary? Casey, Lowrie, Cash isn’t any better than Scott, Ramon, and Fahey, looking at the 7, 8, and 9 spots. Although it might not be hard for them to tag Liz, while there’s always a chance that Wakefield comes in and baffles any lineup in baseball.

I like

Wakefield and his black magic pitches. Hopefully B-Rob, Markickass, and Dr. Jones steal about 3 bags apiece tonight against him though.

Always trust your cape. -Guy Clark

mlbtv feed is very jerky tonight

by zknower on Jul 12, 2008 7:08 PM EDT   0 recs

they're going to have a ton of new users (like myself) sucking up their bandwidth

because they gave anyone who voted in the mlb all-star game a free 1-week trial of mlb.tv

oh crap.

this NESN announcer has a true bostonian accent. shoot me.

by Y Not on Jul 12, 2008 7:12 PM EDT   0 recs

hey woo girl

if you’d been paying attention instead of drinking your latté, you’d have caught that

by zknower on Jul 12, 2008 7:17 PM EDT   0 recs

it's okay liz,

they’re good hitters.

you should still keep throwing strikes.

by zknower on Jul 12, 2008 7:18 PM EDT   0 recs

Here's where Liz gets to show us he can recover

youkilis has the stupidest batting stance ever

he dances like if he has a chipmunk with rabies running around in his pants

by Y Not on Jul 12, 2008 7:20 PM EDT   0 recs

Drew's -- a fly out most places. Manny's: legit, but not spectacular. Stay on your game, Rad.

I was at dinner, and i checked the mobile gameday...

did any of the pitches Wakefield threw to Nick end up in the strike zone?

by getxstoked on Jul 12, 2008 7:24 PM EDT   0 recs

i only saw the last one...

..which was a looking strike, i believe

by zknower on Jul 12, 2008 7:26 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

ok.

because strike one looked like ball four on the gameday thing.

by getxstoked on Jul 12, 2008 7:27 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

He got a lot of knuckle balls - the first couple were low the rest looked pretty good

by typozzz on Jul 12, 2008 7:29 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

how hard is it to throw a knuckleball?

i read last year where the RS were trying to get kids in their system to try it in the hopes of duplicating wakefield’s success. i wonder why more guys don’t give it a shot. especially when their other stuff is no longer working.

by zknower on Jul 12, 2008 7:28 PM EDT   0 recs

it's a dying art..

barely any coaches in high school teach their kids how to throw it, mainly because they themselves have no idea how to do it… so it’s dying, top down.

by Y Not on Jul 12, 2008 7:29 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

nice throw, Nicky.

strike to second base.

by getxstoked on Jul 12, 2008 7:30 PM EDT   0 recs

that was a great throw. dont mess with Kakes

ha ha

mlb.com is really hawking these ridiculous statues of liberty they’ve stuck all over manhattan. they’re auctioning them all off after the AS game to raise money.

except… it seems like people don’t want an ugly 8-foot statue of liberty in their living room, even if IS painted garishly with their team’s colors. or if they do, they don’t want to spend 5 grand for it.

NO ONE IS BIDDING.

Oh, except Red Sox fans of course, who will buy ANYTHING with a RS logo on it to show they didn’t jump on the bandwagon.

Yeah, I bet whomever spends 10 grand to win that monstrosity is a REAL OLD SCHOOL SOX FAN.

by zknower on Jul 12, 2008 7:35 PM EDT   0 recs

hahaha yeah..

worst.. idea.. ever.

Glad razor dissed him tho.

by zknower on Jul 12, 2008 7:37 PM EDT   0 recs

Razor's : out anywhere, Timmy.

And Dick Vitale CAN’T be an Orioles fan!!!

F*ck you, Costner! You better wear an O's hat at OPACY, or you're off my list!

Kevin Costner sucks anyway.

So, Rad sucks, huh

he sucks tonight.

against Youkilis, Ramirez, and Drew.

It’s happened to better pitchers before, and it’ll happen again.

by getxstoked on Jul 12, 2008 8:00 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

for real, yo

to be fair, he was very good at the Cubs game I went to. I’ll always be grateful to him for that.

I saw that, too.

He’s had two terrible starts, I’m not ready to throw him under a bus yet.

It's tough to swallow when they're back to back

That's true.

But he’s a 24 year old kid who just got murdered by the Red Sox line-up, the same Red Sox line-up that dropped 18 on a very good Twins team a few days ago.

by getxstoked on Jul 12, 2008 8:04 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

i'm not throwing him under a bus

I want him to do well. But he has no business in the majors right now. If you can’t find the strike zone in the third inning of a ball game, and you resort to throwing meatballs just to get one over – you gotta go back down and “practice.”

by Y Not on Jul 12, 2008 8:04 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs
