Anyone else feel like the Sox lineup
isn’t all that scary? Casey, Lowrie, Cash isn’t any better than Scott, Ramon, and Fahey, looking at the 7, 8, and 9 spots. Although it might not be hard for them to tag Liz, while there’s always a chance that Wakefield comes in and baffles any lineup in baseball.

I like
Wakefield and his black magic pitches. Hopefully B-Rob, Markickass, and Dr. Jones steal about 3 bags apiece tonight against him though.

it's okay liz,
they’re good hitters.
you should still keep throwing strikes.

Here's where Liz gets to show us he can recover

he dances like if he has a chipmunk with rabies running around in his pants

Drew's -- a fly out most places. Manny's: legit, but not spectacular. Stay on your game, Rad.

I was at dinner, and i checked the mobile gameday...

by getxstoked on Jul 12, 2008 7:24 PM EDT 0 recs
i only saw the last one...
..which was a looking strike, i believe

He got a lot of knuckle balls - the first couple were low the rest looked pretty good

how hard is it to throw a knuckleball?
i read last year where the RS were trying to get kids in their system to try it in the hopes of duplicating wakefield’s success. i wonder why more guys don’t give it a shot. especially when their other stuff is no longer working.
by zknower on Jul 12, 2008 7:28 PM EDT 0 recs
it's a dying art..
barely any coaches in high school teach their kids how to throw it, mainly because they themselves have no idea how to do it… so it’s dying, top down.

ha ha
mlb.com is really hawking these ridiculous statues of liberty they’ve stuck all over manhattan. they’re auctioning them all off after the AS game to raise money.
except… it seems like people don’t want an ugly 8-foot statue of liberty in their living room, even if IS painted garishly with their team’s colors. or if they do, they don’t want to spend 5 grand for it.
Oh, except Red Sox fans of course, who will buy ANYTHING with a RS logo on it to show they didn’t jump on the bandwagon.
Yeah, I bet whomever spends 10 grand to win that monstrosity is a REAL OLD SCHOOL SOX FAN.

Roberts is batting right handed against Wakefield?
any reason why?

Razor's : out anywhere, Timmy.
And Dick Vitale CAN’T be an Orioles fan!!!

But he’s a 24 year old kid who just got murdered by the Red Sox line-up, the same Red Sox line-up that dropped 18 on a very good Twins team a few days ago.

i'm not throwing him under a bus
I want him to do well. But he has no business in the majors right now. If you can’t find the strike zone in the third inning of a ball game, and you resort to throwing meatballs just to get one over – you gotta go back down and “practice.”
