Gameday Thread: Tigers @ Orioles
Detroit Tigers at Baltimore Orioles, Jul 19, 2008 7:05 PM EDT
Let's all hope Good Danny shows up. Come on Danny, zknower has faith in you! Why Melvin Mora is batting third is beyond me. Probably his playoff experience combined with the off the top of the foul pole HR made it impossible to leave him in the 7 hole.
I'm heading out to the game in just a few minutes so any mods who want to gussy up this game thread have at it.
Let's Go O's!

6-0 to go talk to Danny, Ramon. It’s not like Danny’s a little fragile or anything.

Danny
Single, double, HBP, sac fly. Followed by a 3-R HR. And a walk. Aaaaand another HR.

hey! just got here!
I hope this will be another “come-from-behind” victory for the Orioles…
WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?
I go to Walmart to get some milk and paint supplies. I walk in at just before 1st pitch. I come out at 7:23, and my radio says
DET 6 BAL 0
What the hell did Danny do? Hit the first 2 and allow a HR, then walk the next 2 an another HR?

he could find the plate.. the problem is that the opponent’s bats found his pitch before it reached the plate most of the time

I really suspect we saw Danny's peak with his run earlier this season
We’ve been waiting years to see the guy develop a second pitch.
Yeah, I’m down on him, but I’m not even buying into him being a decent inning eater.
Man.. I can't believe how natural Adam Jones looks on the field..
He’s going to be an awesome CFer
So I suppose
all fastballs, all the time isn’t working any more? It was a nice 5 weeks while it lasted, Danny…

The number of things that Cabrera hasn't learned in the last 5 years is really incredible.
How to field his position.
How to hold on runners.
How to throw strikes.
i can't get over how huge placido polanco's head is.
it’s enormous.
Key-rist, Fahey had about an hour and a half to throw him out.Polanco can pick 'em up
but he can’t lay ‘em down, or what?

oh absolutely.. that son of a bitch needs to at least eat up 5 innings
8IP for the bullpen is unreasonable
With luck, this will devolve into the 11-9 game it's threatening to be. We could be the 11. too.

Tremblay should yank Danny

He does not deserve this win.
But god DAMN, go Melmo. What has happened to Melmo in since the All Star game? Is he on steroids. He has never hit this well, even when he was good, like, four years ago.

How's The Transit system in Baltimore?
I’m planning my trip for late August right now. I’m looking at staying at the Microtel Inn & Suites near BWI. It says that I would have to take a bus to the Nursey Road station and then I could take a light rail into the Stadium. Is that right?

It is really freaky
How someone predicted this score about four hours ago.
Was it you, Titov?
If so, what’s the score going to be tomorrow? I really don’t think I can stand any more suspense like this.
Thank you, thank you! No, please, hold the applause while I slide into home a la Luke.
Actually, I called 11-9 back in the 2nd inning, but changed to 11-10 when that became impossibile.

"We’re not concerned about what other teams think. I know teams come in here thinking we’re playing the Orioles. And then 9 innings later, they got the loss, they know what we’re about." ~Adam Jones
I had a feeling
he was gonna crush one. 3DG had just said something about the dude’s numbers against lefties, and when Luke took that swing, there was no doubt. Gary was yelling “BALL GAME” as soon as it came off his bat.
Roch said it went 420. It looked like it hit about 1/3 of the way onto Eutaw. And for everyone who’s stood out there and looked back to home plate, you know: Damn. That ball was crushed.

Oh yeah I said to my dad
“Wouldn’t it be nice if Luke parked one on Eutaw Street right now and ended this thing?” and the words were barely out of my mouth when he hit it. And the slide was awesome.

A computer should never say "NO"
to an Orioles’ home run.
My computer is programmed to say “YES,” to all Orioles homeruns. In fact, my computer says “YES” to any ORIOLES base hit.
Hell yes
Went to work and it was 7-2, I got in the car and it was 10-10.
And then I heard LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKKKKKEEEE.
