HEY EVERYBODY
I need to know (and I’ll ask later, too, since a lot of folks aren’t here on Sundays) the following:
1. How many of you have problems with long gameday threads (load time, etc.)?
2. How many comments does it take before you start having these problems?
3. Are you having them while also running MLB.tv/Gameday/whatever?
I REALLY hate overflow threads because they’re little, ugly, and show in the Recent Posts section, while the Gameday Threads do not, but I don’t want, like, a majority of peeps struggling to participate, either. That would be really f’n stupid.
So let me know and I’ll figure out how to handle everything from this point on. Generally a game does not go by that one of myself, Z, duck, Stacey or 2632 aren’t around and can’t post a new thread.

I don't have many problems
And I’m still on dialup, and I’ve got AIM, Yahoo Messenger, and Media Player on.

I've had problems..
Usually at 400-500 it starts to slow down considerably for me.. I have that problem with or without gameday on. Never keeps me from posting, though.
I’m still surprised that the issue hasn’t come up for other people on here… I have a pretty decked out comp.

running a 3-year old titanium powerbook with DSL (wifi)
running the gamethreads with MLB.tv streaming (800k) simultaneously. using safari as my browser.
no real problems. sometimes MLB.tv slows down, but never the game thread. Of course, with the auto-update feature, I rarely refresh the entire page.

not too many problems
it does get a bit slow around 500, but no biggie
however, i am having a problem where none of the pictures are coming up. avatars and everything.

Around 450
My computer starts to take a bit to load, and I think that I have a pretty good one.
My best game plan is to sit on the bench and call out specific instructions like 'C'mon Boog,' 'Get ahold of one, Frank,' or 'Let's go, Brooks.' -Earl Weaver

Today's topped out at around 450
I think unless we’re at 400 by the 7th, we might try and avoid overload threads, unless it’s causing problems. If it is, post during the game, and we can do one if needed.

Yeah awesome
I didn’t have the problem today, but last night my computer was really not having it because Scott hit than walk off coupled with the thread being something like 600 posts.
