 O's Notes:

  • Brian Roberts currently leads the AL in doubles (38) and triples (8). The last player to lead the AL in those categories in the same season was Minnesota's Cesar Tovar in 1970 with 36 doubles and 13 triples.
  • Nick Markakis is having his best season in the big leagues against left handed pitchers. He's hitting .317 with a .963 OPS.
  • Matt Wieters Update: He's batting .345 (29-for-84) with six doubles, 4 home runs, and 27 RBI's in 26 games for the Baysox. And of course we all heard about his pinch hit grand slam earlier this week.
  • Adam Jones is on fire. He's hit in 19 of his last 23 games, going 32-for-90 (.356) with two doubles, three triples, two home runs and 15 RBI's.

So, that's why MelMo is batting third.

.714 BA against Saunders, that’s ridiculous.

Here we go

I’ve got a six pack of beer and some pizza in the oven. Time for some baseball. Love the black jerseys.

The Black Jerseys are Beast!

They’ve gotta be my favorite jerseys next to the white throw backs that we wore the other night.

What is the answer to these starting pitching woes? Do we just suck it up until our youngsters in the minors are ready? Is there anyone in the minors who can outperform our current starters? Should we trade for even more pitching?
