BREAKING: Griffey headed to White Sox

It's not 100% official yet, as Griffey could veto the trade, but his wish to play for a contender may be coming true.
Ken Rosenthal (I know, I know) is reporting that a deal is in place to send 600-year old Griffey to the White Sox.
I'm working on a trade talkin' post right now, and I'll expand my thoughts, but I'll say for the moment that I honestly don't "get" this trade.

Wow, no kidding
The White Sox have been so surprisingly good at the plate that they really don’t need Griffey’s bat… and Griffey’s bat is hardly what it used to be anyway… and there’s a high chance of Griffey getting hurt and missing significant time anywhere down the stretch…. This makes no sense at all for the White Sox.

I’m getting more and more convinced that all of these complex multi-team deals are going to fall apart and nothing will end up happening.
