Back From New York in One Piece
I had an absolute blast in New York. The two games that we went to couldn't have been any better. Well, maybe the Tuesday game could have been a little less stressful. But besides that it was perfect. On Monday we sat next to 3 other O's fans and I have to say that I was surprised to see so much orange in our section. There was a whole group of O's fans towards the bottom of our section and others scattered throughout our section. We dominated pretty much all of Monday's game so the Yankee fans didn't really have much to cheer about. We didn't get harassed by any Yankee fans the whole time we were there, which surprised me. We just heard the occasional "Baltimore Sucks!" every so often. The highlight of the whole trip had to be when my boy Dr. Jones hit his first career grand slam. The ball landed about 4 sections away from where we were sitting and as soon as he hit it I started going nuts. You're never going to guess who I met in the airport. (Look at the Last 2 Photos on the Bottom of the Page)

Different Views From Our Seats

Dr. Jones Roaming the Outfield.

Huge Night for the Doc, 3-6 HR 5 RBI. I think it's pretty ironic that he had such a big night when I was there. It's all because I was reppin his jersey. THAT'S MY SON!

GAME OVER O's Destroy the MFY 13-4!

THE NEW YANKEE STADIUM
Okay, now I know you've all been waiting to see who I met at the airport so here he his: MR. GARY THORNE ladies and gentleman. He was checking in right next to us and I talked to him for a good 5 minutes before he had to go. Oh I almost forgot, he skipped the whole line. Classic 3 Beer Gary, You gotta love him!

What a Trip!
One Last Note: I wrote my name in sharpie on the seat that I sat in.

Cool pictures
My best game plan is to sit on the bench and call out specific instructions like 'C'mon Boog,' 'Get ahold of one, Frank,' or 'Let's go, Brooks.' -Earl Weaver

I'm betting that it already does.

Do you have any high-res shots?
I want to see if I can pick me out in any shots that show the upper deck behind home plate.

What section?
I was in Tier 10 C the night of the awesome blowout and I took a stab at a YS panorama, so maybe you’re innit.

Awesome
I was in Tier 3, row V (3-4 rows from the top) on that night. I’m not sure you’d be able to see me from tier 10, though.
I was rocking this hat:

Good stuff
And an awesome game. I tried to call you but didn’t get an answer, wasn’t sure if I got the phone number right.
I was surprised at how cool the Yankers fans were about my BAL shirt. Then again, I wasn’t in the bleachers. I tried to keep from gloating too much but I was trying to let Guts hear me yell ‘GUTS’
There was a guy in my section, Row ZZ, who got removed after a long tirade about how Millar is a Doooooooochbaaaaaag. It was highly amusing.
I’m gonna post my pics eventually but my laptop turned into a brick and I can’t do that stuff at w*rk.

That's awesome
I didn’t get your call so maybe you had the wrong number. But, I was also surprised that I didn’t get heckled by the yankee fans. I guess it was because we were kicking their ass.

Oh and
Whatever song they play for E5_Rod’s at bats I will always be reminded of him hitting the ball a whopping 7 feet or striking out.

I loved
The “Earn Your Pay Check” (to the tune of “Lets Go Yankees”) chants when A-Rod was at the plate.

Going in a few weeks
any tips on parking, trains, gates for autographs?
by merdon1332000 on Aug 4, 2008 9:11 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Get there early
We parked at a garage a few blocks from the stadium for $17, we got there around lunchtime and there were still good spots available. This gave us time to check out and take pics of both stadia. We took the train into Manhattan for a couple hours. Took the 4 back just before 5 and it was ridiculously packed, and only got worse as the ride went, just about everyone got off at 161st.
The 4, B, and D trains go to Yanker Stadium. The 4 is an express, I recommend it. See also http://mta.info/nyct/maps/submap.htm
Can’t say about autographs, sry.
