Griffey is 2-3 with 2 singles, 2 RBI, and 1 Run. The one out that he made was a deep fly ball to right center that would’ve been out of most ballparks.

okay, here's the home improvement section of the thread....

...for you, duck.

here’s the thing. renovating a kitchen in NYC is not the same scale as everywhere else, as it is generally the size of a bathtub…..

Of course, you never know what you’ll find behind a wall in a building that dates to the 1860s…

...but it sure don’t look regular.

We’re increasing the doorway by two bays to open the place up.

...and replacing all the crappy old lathe/plaster with drywall while we’re at it. Not part of the original plan, but as I said, you start breaking eggs…..

We finally got some drywall onto that crazy back wall yesterday….

and today we finished all the drywall and began mudding. YAY!

I just posted this....

on the Fox Sports feedback page.
(pulldowns: TV > FSN > FSN Northwest)

I encourage everyone here to do the same. Maybe we can actually make a difference in this world!

Dear FSN Northwest:

Please tell the Mariners broadcasters, Dave Sims and Mike Blowers, that the Baltimore Orioles’ manager is David TREMBLEY (with an “e”), not TROMBLEY (with an “o”), as they keep pronouncing it.

He has been managing the team since last year and, by all accounts, is doing a bang-up job. And this is the Orioles’ second series at Safeco this year, so there’s really no excuse to continue to get it wrong.

It would be nice to hear them say the name properly for the last two games of this series.

Thanks,

and every time the train came by they would steal if they had a runner on base because they knew that the catcher wouldn’t be able to here anybody yelling going.

The train has a certain charm, but Baltimore has a better symphony than Seattle.

Whee, this musta been a nice one (til the sloppy 9th-- but who cares?) I'm incommunicado here

at the fambly’s summer estate, harrumph, on the banks of the mighty Susquehanna. Which means no hi-speed net for the moment - I’m ripping off wi-fi at the local public library right now - and because Peter Angelos is a douche, no frickin’ radio coverage of the game: You can pick up the Orioles’ AM “flagship” station - if there even is one it’s operated by two hamsters and Petey’s nephew or something - about as well as you can pick up Seattle, so I’m reduced to following the O’s via other people’s Out of Town Scoreboard segments (Yerks ‘n’ Sawx come in best).

And their games had some interesting moments: Speaking of hamsters, Pedro served up 3 gopher balls, hee-hee, and Miggi said he’s really happy in Astroland in the post-game. Meanwhile, Sid sobered up long enough to save his job, shutting out the Angels on 2 hits over 7—though he wasn’t exactly sharp at some points, with 4 BB and a nice bouquet of at ‘em balls and shots pulled down at the wall. Still, credit where it’s due to El Sid and his personal trainers: Jim Beam, Johnny Walker and the rest.

OK, it’s Guts tonight—I’m psyched!! Which is good because it’s gonna take a psychic connection to follow the game if the Sawx station wavers, since the Yerks play at 4 pm in NY.

Go O’s! Go drywall! Go Trombley! Go figure!

"Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning." Churchill,1942-- a rebuilding year.
